Emotions On a Rollercoaster!!
Posted: 02-23-04 00:27am

Is it okay that my husband irritates me no matter what he does? I am 12 weeks and it seems like I am always mad at him. One minute I am happy as can be, the next I want to just get away. I very much so love my husband, but lately he annoys me. Question

Welcome to the emotional roller caoster called pregnancy. Yes, unfortunately raging hormones come hand in hand with maternity. Some will suffer worse than others, but it is a scientifically proven fact that most pregnant women will suffer some kind of emotional unbalance during their pregnancy. I guess it doesn't help when we slowly elvolve into a human with a beachball attatched to the front of us. It doesn't exactly make us feel real sexy now does it. I am 28 weeks pregnant right now, and feel like a swollen rhinocerous with a bad hair day. Sometimes I could choke both my husband and my 14 year old daughter, along with my mother, father and sister, and need to take a few minutes for myself, whether it be taking a shower or a relaxing bath, or even just go and lay down in the bedroom with the door shut for a couple of hours. Afterwards I come out and I see everything in a totally different light. I also try to keep in mind that, yes hubby and daughter do annoy me sometimes, but oh boy, what they must have to put up with living with me. Ahhhhh! I actually feel sorry for them. You could mention to your doctor that you are not coping with the hormonal imbalance, and they may be able to give you something mild to help you cope. I am currently taking ciprimil, which is a type of anti depressant that you can take during pregnancy. It really takes the edge off for me, and helps me get through each day reasonably well.

Hey good luck, keep us posted on how your going.
