Does this pain feel like cramps? During your first trimister your uterus is contracting and it almost feels like your on your period. Ways to help this pain would be a heating pad or a warm bath. Make sure she doesn't take a hot bath. If she gets over heated it's not good for the baby.
Hope this helped.

Hi gill,
your wife will need to rest when she is suffering these cramps. Like the last poster said, it could just be her uterus contracting, the uterus is also being stretched to make way for your growing bubby. Although sometimes cramps this early on in pregnancy can be signs of a miscarriage. If she ever has these cramps along with bleeding, then she will need to go to the hospital.
