My nana was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid
Leukemia about 4 weeks ago. She is 86 and
they have told her that they cannot give
her chemo. She is having blood
transfusions every 2 weeks or so and now
she needs platelets too. The last time she
went in for a transfusion the doctor told
her that her bone marrow is no longer
producing any red blood cells at all.
Could anyone tell me what this means? I
know that I need to prepare for the worst
but this is not a development that any of
our family were expecting. Please help I
am so so worried about her.
