Cot Or Cotbed??
Posted: 05-14-07 09:50am

Well, today I've done my list for my hospital bag and list of things I need to get. I'm only 22 weeks pregnant but money's tight so wanna aim to start getting the big things over the next 10 weeks. I don't know whether or not to get a cot or cotbed. My girl is gunna be in my room for the first 6 months in her moses basket for 4 months then I'll bring her cot or cotbed from her nursery into my room for another 2 months then she'll go into her own room at 6 months. But what worked for you? Cot or cotbed? I've got quite a bit of clothes, changing mat, bath, bottles, steriliser, bathing stuff and other bits and bobs so far.

Well as you know i'm having .Mika in a moses basket untill she's too big for it and then into a cot. I know that my mum had a cotbed for us and really really didn't like it, it was just too bulky for her. It's tottaly your preffernce though alot of people like them because it works out cheaper but then again if you have to buy a cotbed which is generally more expesive than a regular cot and then another bed because the cotbed isn't big enough after a while then it can work out more expensive

I think so yeah. Basically a cot is just used for when they're little up to about the age of two and a cot bed can adjusted to turn into a bed but will obviously be smaller than a bed you would buy

like bridget i don't know the difference between the two...but also consider that your baby might not fit in a moses basket for 4 months.

Yep i think both are called a moses basket (i could be mistaken though) bassinets are pretty rare over here though it's mainly either a moses basket or cot
