New Here: Sharp Pain In Head Ever Since Posted: 05-14-07 13:32pm
I was having sex and
I got a severe headache out of nowhere,it
stopped within 10 minutes. Ever since
that, normally when its rainy or stormy
outside I get little sharp twinges of head
pain,it feels like someone is stabbing me
in the head,it lasts no more then a few
seconds. It usually occampanies a
headache, anyone no the cause of this?

I should also mention that its almost all
the time in the back left side of my
head, although I have felt sharp pains in
the right side of my head also.

Welcome to .Ehealth!
Do these pains occur during any other
physical activity or excitement?
There is a nerve that runs up your neck
across your head to your eye. There is a
muscle that can sometimes be contracted
and put pressure on this nerve. It can
cause extreme pain (normally in short
bursts). A neruo will tell you to take it
easy for a few weeks (meaning no physical
activiy or excitement ie: no sex, heavy
lifting, or getting upset) If after a few
weeks the symptoms do not improve then you
will need to see a docotor.
I hope you are feeling better soon. Make
sure to keep us posted!

Im trying to think,I dont remember it
happening again with sex,but thats because
I be very careful to make sure it doesnt
happen. I am now 9 months pregnant so Im
really not doing any heavy lifting or
anything,I actually havent had any of
these pains for my whole pregnancy, they
started again just the other day when it
was stormy for a few days. It feels like
they are subsiding today,I am just sick to
my stomache thinking it may be something
more serious,I am seeing a doctor tomorrow
for my pregnancy,so I will definetly tell
them about it,thanks for your post and any
more advice will help!

Honestly, If it only happen the once. I
wouldn't worry about it being a nerve.
If the rain is naking it worse it may be a
sinus related pain. We have sinus cavities
all over our head. However, being as far
as you are in your pregnancy I am not
comfortable telling you anything that you
can take for sinus problems. I think it is
a good idea to tell your doctor. They will
be the best to tell you what you can take
for it as well.
When is you edd?

June 10th is just around the corner. You
must be excited to meet your little one!
Do you know the gender yet?
Nope, not a doctor. But I have had a many
problems with headaches (all kinds) my
intire life. So I've done alot of research
and been to many doctors.
You should introduce your self over on the
pregnancy and the pregnancy community chat
boards. All of the women there are very
nice and supportive. We have a range of
people from those of us that are ttc all
the way to those that have toddlers and
are just addicted to this site. So you can
get help on most all problems or even just
vent to people that understand.
I hope to see you over there. And please
let me know what your doctor says.

I love that name! You will have your hands
full but I'm sure you can do it!
There are a few ladies here with 2 under 2
so I'm sure they will have some advice for
you.
I hope you stick around!
