I had my first pregnancy scare last night. as i was sitting at walmart returning an item, i felt a fluid come out... i didn't think much of it but i need to go wipr (haha) i remember someone telling me you will get some kinda discharge. little did i know i went and there was a fluid like (not merky or smokey) pinkish orange stuff in my panties. i got scared told my fiance. we called his mother how is a nurse, she said i should go to the ER just to make sure. well they did a few things to make sure everything was ok (with the baby) and to make sure i was in deed pregnate (i haven't gone to the doctor yet for the pregnancy) long story short my fiance had... i can't remember how the Dr. said it but he punctured the placenta and it bleed a little. they gave my a anibiotic... in the BUTT!! it hurt sooo bad! im so happy the baby is fine! im kinda sad that i couldn't find out how far along i am. According to the Dr. hes guessing 4-5 weeks im too soon to be able to tell for sure. The ultrasound didn't show nothing. Confused

oh ok i think i get it....he probably hit your cervix and made that bleed a little....it happens a lot

thats stupid, that nurse sound really rude, you are absolutly allowed to have sex while pregnant and there is not problem with it, bleh, i hate rude medical "profesionals"

well good luck with everything, and just tell him to take it easier next time lol

It was the cervix being irritated. More blood flow to that area during pregnancy can cause the cervix to bleed a little when it is irritated.

What did you get the shot of antibiotics for though? That seems a little like something more was going on...

As far as the placenta goes: there is no risk of it getting 'poked' during sex or the doctor even poking it, for that matter.

If you are 4-5 weeks pregnant, some break thru bleeding in early pregnancy is common.

Interesting because there isn't a placenta at 4-5 weeks. Confused there is still a yolk sac.
the placenta isn't fully developed until 11-12 weeks.
once fully developed the placenta takes over the production of hormones and that is why a lot of women find that their morning sickness gets less (not all women) and also why the risk of miscarriage is less.

the antibiotics was because i had white blood cells in my urine, and i was concerned that i might have had a UTI or a yeast infection so he gave me that to prevent anything that they couldn't see yet.
MC-The funny thing is i got a positive May 7th... I have no idea how that is possible i feel like a blind person in this whole pregnancy world!

Were you late is that why you tested? Or did you have a feeling you were?

Based off of you getting a positive 14 days after ovulating (which is average, I know that they can show up earlier, I'm just going off the average) Which would have been right around when your period was expected. You would have o'ed right around 4-23 ish (give or take a few days) and if you add two weeks to that. (Which I know, agian, just for the sake of arguement). Your last menstral period should have been around 4-9th ish. So you would be just over 5 weeks pregnant. Now that is all based off of how close to your period you tested.

That makes sence i think im just gunna go to the womans center i think its called i just had to go to the ER cuz ... it was emergency. but the first day of my last period was 4-5 so you really close, does that mean i'm just over 5 weeks still? all i truley understud outta everything is that when the did the internal and regular ultrasound they couldn't see that so the nurse said that i must be around 3-4 weeks but she couldn't really tell.

Im just sooo happy nothing wrong with the baby. when do you know the gender? I can't wait till i can call it somthing else besides "the Baby"

Obviously the gender is decided from conception but the external sexual organs don't start to form untill about week 15, but i personally would only trust the tech if i was over 18 weeks. I found out at my 20week ultrasound but i knew i was having a girl

how did you know you were having a girl? i told my fiance yesterday "do you know when your SOO hungry, but all you have is foods that need to be prepared... then you gotta wait 30 minutes or so...? I feel like i have to wait 9 months!" I only JUST found out and i can't wait.. but i guess thats normal.

my mother's instinct is broken. i was so sure i was having a girl, i just felt it with everything i had. i daydreamed about all the fun girly things we'd do and i looked at girly nursery decor. i was absolutely shocked at my u/s when she said "it's a boy".

i was disappointed for like 2 minutes and now i can't imagine not having finn as my baby.
