Adverse Effects From a Vaccination Posted: 05-15-07 09:44am
This past winter I received a flu shot
from a local pharmacy who was holding a
"Flu Clinic". I was never informed that
the person administering the injections
was not a nurse, but a pharmacist who had
a class on how to give shots. Any way,
when she jabbed me in the upper arm, I was
really surprised at how painful it was
(I've had the shot in the past without the
same kind of pain). Since that time, I
have had numerous problems with recurrent
pain and muscle weakness in that exact
spot on my arm.
I've been to see my primary care doctor
who then referred me to an orthopedic
surgeon who in turn basically said there
is nothing wrong... I know this isn't in
my head! I've done everything from
applying ice, ibuprofen and rest to
receiving two cortisone shots and I had an
MRI (which showed two bone spurs but no
damage to the muscles or tissue) Now it's
been months and I'm still in constant
pain. Any advise for me? Has anyone else
been injured from an injection? I'd like
to get a second opinion but I'm not sure
which kind of specialist to see.
