Q: 6 Weeks Pregnant

I am six weeks pregnant, and have had continuous stomach cramps and back ache for the last week, with spotting. I went for a scan today and was told that all they could see was a gestation sac, no yolk and no pole. I am booked in for another scan tomorrow, and was told if the pain increased over night to go the hospital.

Does this sound normal at 6 weeks? I thought by this stage there should be more than only a gestation sac to see

Welcome to .Ehealth!

Congratulations!

It is not uncommon for them to not be able to see anything or to only see a sac at that gestational age, so try not to worry.

How severe is the cramping that you are having?

Cramping is also normal in early pregnancy. However, I don't believe it should be worse than regular period cramping. But all your doctors can really do at this stage is watch you. They are quite right however, that if your cramping gets worse go straight away to the er.

I hope you stick around! More people will be by soon to give your there opinion as well. Hopefully, someone knows a little more than I do.

Please keep us posted with what the doctors say tomorrow.
