Current medical status: mri results - at the level l4-5 disc level, there is a 4mm disc extrusion. there is a additional 8 mm sequestrtion in rt. paracentral area posteior to l5 which is causing compression of the thecal sac and decending nerve roots. at l5-s1, there is a 6mm disc extrusion causing neural foraminal narrowing.

Current medical treatment: this is on the 3rd week, im on 2nd steroid shot and pack, also a musle relaxer, and pain pills. i have a apt with a nuro surgeon on monday the 21. also takw 30 mg adderallxr and bcp."

Your MRI-report indicates spondylotic changes of the vertebral spine that cause pressure on the spinal nerves’ roots. Pressure on the spinal nerves causes neural pain. Spondylosis, in your case, has affected the intervertebral discs. Disk protrusions (discus hernia) and parts of the discs (sequestration) cause pressure on the roots of the spinal nerves. Surgical removal of the affected discs can help relieve the pain. Physical therapy (traction and electrotherapy) can also help, but most doctors believe that these treatments are not as efficient as surgery. You can consult a neurosurgeon for an expert opinion.
