First time on this site but it looks helpful, I'm 35 weeks and 2 days today, and I went and saw my dr. and she said that I'm 80% thinned out and about 2cm dilated, Im not due till fathers day(june 17th) Does anyone know if this means my baby will be born early or what, or if I slow down on everything i do(even more then i have) will make him come later or delay the thinning, what happens when im 100% thinned out, is that when my water breaks, please help anwser or anything!!!!!! help

Babies will come when they want to they're very unpredictable little things! If your doctor doesn't think that there is a problem then i would just carry on and let nature take its course, some babies will be born weeks early and soon will hang on in there untill the very last minute. Keep calm and good luck!

If your doctor was worried about it you probably would have been admitted to the hospital or put on bed rest. You probably should be taking it easy anyway since you are so far along but it doesn't neccessarily mean the baby will come early.

I have 2 kids that I actually stayed at 3cm with from 34 wks till 37 wks and even after getting to 4 cm I did not diliver till38 wks. I was 60 and 70% effaced, head down, with baby engaged in my pelvic. So I would say probably not unless of course thats the babys plan to do so. I would say in another week If your dr thinks its ok you should do a lot of walking to push the baby down. Once you are fully effaced it is likly you will start to have contractions and your membrains may burst. I say all this from experience. Hope this helps.
