Only if you are on the pill of some sort
or similar. It can be taken not just for
contraception but also for heavy and long
periods. You can take it thru your period
so you will miss one out. I often do this
if i am going away or something. It does
not harm your body as long as you dont do
it all the time obviously or you will get
breakthrough bleeding.
It may take a while for your body to
become used to the pill and you may still
bleed. How far off is the event? Go see
your doctor and ask.

Just a question but... why not? Women ask
all the time about skipping their period
but... is it because of cramping? That
would be over by day 2 or 3 i'd think. If
it's because you use pads, invest in
tampons, they're really not that hard to
use. I suggest buying a divacup actually
Even with my severe cramping, I never
found my period to be an inconvenience
when it came to events... then again I've
used tampons almost my entire life since
puberty.
I'm not saying "don't skip!" because
skipping is perfectly fine, and there are
forms of birth control out there that make
you only have 4 a year. But if you're not
on birth control at the moment, you might
have a difficult time getting on it before
the event. If you're sexually active or
over 18 they require a pap smear (in NY
anway).

In fl (the dr I have seen anyways) require
a pap when sexually active or 21.
I would skip my period for major events
like my wedding and my honeymoon. I wanted
to celebrate the events with my husband
but have never liked intercourse while on
my period. That is just my personal
reasons.

I can understand events that involve sex,
but anything else I just don't see a
reason to skip. Unless you're climbing a
mountain in tibet

Its clear youve never had bad periods or
youd wantto skip them even at the most
silly things like going on a day trip to
the Zoo lol! Even tamponscant help me
much. I leak within mins as have such
heavy periods, the cramps are so bad im
forced to often stay in bed. This is why i
went on the pill in the 1st place and
other meds

Yeah, I suppose when I used to vomit in
pain and writhe around in bed it wasn't a
bad period... Sorry but yes, I
did used to have very bad periods.
No, I don't have heavy flow, but again,
the pill helps with that, and honestly the
divacup makes life so much nicer during
even my light period. It was a godsend!
