Cracking Gritty Fluid Sound When I Move My Head Posted: 05-17-07 13:20pm
Hi,
The past 4-5 months i have had this weird
sound of cracking/gritty like fluid moving
around in my head or ears when ever i turn
my head side to side or rotate it around.
There is no sound when i have my head
straight and still.
I do have some thick Post nasal Drip where
i have to snort hard to get it into my
throat to be able to spit it out as there
is nothing in my nose so it cant be blown
out the nose.
I was to see my ENT and mentioned this
sound and he checked my ears with the
little handheld lighted thingy and said
there was no fluid in my ears and to see
my dentist. He also did a hearing test
which was normal.
Dentist said it wasnt anything to do with
my teeth jaw.
So now 2 months i am going back to the ENT
next month why i dont know if he already
told me there was no fluid what else can
he do?
Im getting pretty worried as i am a
constant worrier and always diagnose my
self with the worst.
What does this sound like to you anyone?
Thanks!

unfortunately, i have no clue what could
be the matter. however, i would suggest
that if you're hesitant about seeing your
ENT doctor, you should also schedule an
appointment with your personal physician,
just because that way they may be able to
check out a wider base of problems, and
then if they find something could give you
a referral to the correct specialist.
well, good luck

I also have the gritty sound when I turn
my head side to side
I'm assuming my problem is arthritis,
since I also have pain in my neck and
other joints makes sounds like this and
are painful.
maybe it's arthritis?

I have the same symptoms...I just assume
it's arthritis. It doesn't really hurt,
so I haven't worried about it.
