Q: Two Pregnancies - Why Didn't Anyone Tell Me ?

Early on in my second pregnancy I was in a minor car accident. Thank God, the baby was fine, but it wasn't until my accident that I was told about the danger caused by wearing a seat belt improperly during pregnancy. I have had two children, and not once was I ever told about the importance of proper seat belt usage. After my accident I began researching the topic. I found that the number one cause of fetal loss is motor vehicle accidents. Many pregnancies are lost each year due to women not wearing their seat belts properly. Given the fact that this topic is so vital to pregnant women, it's puzzling as to why there is not more done to make pregnant women aware. The experts all recommend that pregnant women should wear their seat belts under their belly and over their hips - NEVER ACROSS THEIR BELLY. This is good to know, but almost impossible to achieve when the seat belt tends to rise over the growing belly. During my research, I found a device that holds the lap belt under the belly and even keeps it there during an accident. Every pregnant woman should know about it. When I discovered it, I wondered why I didn't know about it sooner. It's called the Maternity Seat Belt and I found it at (url removed - do not advertise on our forum). Not only did I find it at that website, but after visiting (removed) I became much more educated. I was able to view a crash test and gain life-saving information, as well as the piece of mind that the device I ordered was tested and proven. Reducing the devastating statistics involving many pregnant women in automobile accidents is so simple to do. It is a shame that not more is being done to bring this subject to light.

I agree - I hate when spammers use forums to promote their studpid products, but my post is actually my true experience that was very scarey. Yes, don't wear your seat belt over your belly, but knowing that isn't the hard part - keeping it off your belly is. I know so many pregnant women who don't wear their seat belts b/c they've given up on trying to keep it under their big bellies. I just thought this info could help a lot of people.

it doesnt matter if this is a real life thing or not, its still spamming and its still a stupid (studpid) product

its not that difficult to keep a seat belt under your belly

also the fact you stated about car accidents being the leading cause of fetal death is completely inaccurate, the leading cause is "unknown causes" usualy something to do with chrmasonal problems or maternal problems which happen very early, which leads to the high rate of miscarrige before the 12th week

stop spamming and stop lying
