no, it's just amazon being unethical.

we'd ordered 12 items and they removed 6 of them and tried to charge us $16 shipping, so nick canceled our order. actually he canceled all his open orders, including the new harry potter book and heroes season 1 (that means he means business!), and wrote a nasty letter.

i'm so freakin' mad.

i did call and i all i got was "they'll be sending out an email within the next few days regarding the super savers shipping". next few days?!

rules that apply to real stores do not apply to online stores. i just don't know how they can get away with canceling certain items and jacking up the shipping cost and then charging your card, all of this without notifying you. that seems wrong and illegal.

the other forum i go to is absolutely freaking out about it. they're all contacting the bbb and someone posted how to contact the ceo (i almost feel bad for that guy), there also flooding customer service with calls (there are about 800 members).

some people's stuff had already shipped and they're being told they either need to send it back when they get it or they'll be charged full price!

i'm really mad. i think they should honor everything and be more careful in the future. a loss like that would barely even affect a huge company like amazon.

hmm... maybe you got lucky and ordered "safe" stuff. i'd keep checking though up until it's supposed to ship. they'd canceled so much of my order that the shipping was higher than the total.

I went in and checked when .I first read that they were taking stuff off your order .B and it said nothing on mine. I just got an email saying they had shipped about half of my stuff with the other stuff to be shipped on .Monday. They didn't take my xylophone. I got a little tykes one?

I don't know how you got free shipping anyway. Maybe I didn't get there fast enough to get it? I didn't care because what I got was a good deal, now lets see what the stuff really is.

You know what they say about "if it's too good to be true..." especially on the internet.

normally i'd think this, but amazon is known to have huge toy blowouts at least twice a year.

i can't believe some of your stuff has shipped! are you an amazon prime member? my stuff wasn't shipping until the 29th. are you getting the ridiculously low sale prices? i wanted that xylophone so bad, when i ordered it they had it marked down to $2.58, now i think it's up to $12 or something.

the free shipping is something amazon offers on most of it's items. it'll say something about "super save shipping" and if you order over $25 of those items you'll get free shipping.

I have no idea why my stuff got shipped? I paid shipping? I have never bought anything from .Amazon before.
Well, if they send me my stuff and then send me an email saying I have to return it, I will cancel my debit card through my bank and get a new one. Charge that .Amazon!

I'm an avid lurker here, and I decided to check out the toy clearance. I purchased a total of 11 items, all of which have been canceled except for 3 things. I called Amazon this morning and they said that the problem will be fixed within the next 1-2 business days, meaning that all of my items will supposedly be added back to my order for the price I was originally supposed to pay. Rolling Eyes

I just thought I would let you guys know that Amazon is still honoring the clearance prices despite the fact that they have been canceling orders left and right. Just to re-iterate, The items will be re-added to our accounts and we are supposed to only pay what the initial clearance price stated.

Just a heads up to those of you that placed orders.

I got the person's name, so they better not pull any crap! I was so ready to chew Amazon out, but the guy was being so nice that I couldn't. He said that he made some notes in my account, so I wouldn't have any problems later. He better be right or it's on!!!!

Maybe if you call back and let them know that you mean business, they will give in. They have to, after all. It's their mistake. If you go to Target or where ever, and something is mismarked, they have to give you the price it is advertised at. The same rule applies to Amazon!

The least they can do is honor the sale price, that is if they want any future business.

i wouldn't count on anything. all the women on my other forums (hundreds of them) have been jerked around by customer service reps since this all started. only a few people have been told what you were told and they don't believe it.

unfortunately the rules that apply to real stores like target, don't apply to online stores. most of the emails people are getting have a piece of amazons terms and conditions included that says something about pricing errors, if it's lower than they advertised price you get that lower price, if it's higher you have the option of paying the higher price or canceling. it's quite ridiculous.

they went about this all wrong, but they're such a huge company i don't think it'll matter. personally, i think they should have let us go on believing it was a huge sale and given us our orders. they would have lost tons of money but does it really matter to them? then they would have had tons of happy customers telling all their friends about the great deals they got and how awesome amazon is, it would've been great .p.r. now all they have are thousands of angry customers.

this probably seems silly to some people, but this really is quite a big deal.

You're probably right. I'm sure the guy was just telling me what I wanted to hear, which sucks royally because like you (Bridget) I was buying things to put away for my babys birthday (in Nov), and Christmas for all 3 kids. I was so excited to get 11 things for $27.00. Now my list is down to 4 things. If they won't honor the sale prices for the other items, I'm canceling my whole order, which won't faze them, but I'll feel a little better. I guess all I can do right now is give them the benefit of the doubt and hope they will ship all of my items.

This stinks though! I was literally jumping up and down after I bought the toys! I really hope Amazon comes through on this one!
