Sorry if this is a little tmi for you guys I am just curious.
Today at work I went to the bathroom and wiped and noticed thick mucousy bloody stuff ... a lot of it. So I called the maternity ward at my hospital and they asked me a ton of questions and then finally said they thought I was having "bloody show" and that it had something to do with my plug something ( I was a little frazzled and panicing so I wasn't hearing everything right i'm sure) that i'd be ok , and It wasn't necessary for me to get a rg shot (I'm rh- ) . They said to just take it easy and if my water breaks or things get worse Shocked to call them and then come in.
Now I was just wondering what having bloody show means?
Is it an early sign of labour or is it just something the body does in the last few weeks? Maybe I'm dumb for not knowing these things but this is my first time around and im curious as to whats going on.

Hun, it sounds like you lost your mucus plug. That's a good thing! It just means your body is getting closer and closer to going into labor! Wink .when you're pregnant, your cervix gets "plugged" with mucus to prevent infection and such (hence the "mucus plug"), and when your cervix starts to change the closer you get to your due date, the plug comes out. How far along are you again?

I'm almost 35 weeks? Isnt that a little early?
The nurse didn't say it was too early , but still ... shouldn't that happen in a couple weeks?
If I ended up in labour in the next few days or week or so, would the baby be ok?
I'm kinda scared.

35 weeks is a little early for labor. They might try to stop it if you start having contractions, or they might do a test to see if the baby's lungs are mature.

Your mucus plug will grow back if you don't go into labor Wink try not to worry. They would have told you to go to the hospital if they were concerned.

Relax. You can lose your mucous plug and grow a new one. It only means you lost it. It in no way means labor is coming right now. Or even soon.

I know it can be scary. But, trust me, if there was anything to be worried about ~ the nurse would have told you.

Haha! That is funny.

Mine was so awful and gross. It wasn't like a wipe with some bloody show on it. It was like I got blobbed! And it wouldn't quit. It was a huge amount. Blech.

That was the first time. The second child = there was no mucous plug that I noticed at all.

be glad you got something you can deffiantly call your plug, all i got was some stringy boogery stuff that i wasnt (and still am not) sure if it was actualy my plug (i think it was though)

and like everyone else said, the plug doesnt mean too much

i think it means your cervix is changing, thats all

yeaa Everyone keep's saying that.
It really feels like the past 34 weeks flew by , I feel like they went by WAY too fast ... but I'm sure when I'm closer to the end they'll really slow down and then I'll be wanting them to go faster!
