Achilles Tendonitis Posted: 05-22-07 17:36pm
About three months ago I was diagnosed
with achilles tendonitis. The doctor told
me to rest for 2 weeks and I should be
fine. That was three months ago and I
still have pain in my achilles heel. I
told the school nurse about it and she
recommend that I take NSAIDs 3 times a
day. I know she is not a doctor but she is
at least someone that I know with a
medical career. I have been taking Advil
and Generic CVS Ibuprofen for the last
week and a half. And I have seen no
improvement.
This time of about three months has been
hard on me because I was unable to play
any of the sports that I love (Basketball
and Track). I have one week from today
until basketball summer league starts and
I really want to play. I've tried to get
rid of this disease. And the only work out
I have been doing is an upper body lift.
Anything that uses the lower body I have
stayed away from.
I would also like to add that I have done
plenty of research on the internet on how
to ditch this disease. So please help me
become health so that I can play
basketball in the summer.
Thanks in advance.
EDIT: I would like to add that I have been
taking 6 tablets of Ibuprofen a day
because that what it says to take unless
directed by a doctor to take more than 6.
