i think i may have a social anxiety
disorder but i dont know-
please advise me.
well.i started my new school a year and a
half ago ever since then i think i have
been under a tremendous amount of stress
without even realizing it.
i get really freaked out at school about
what people think of me
i get scared when i have to make public
speeches to the class
i get flustered and worried when the
teacher calls on me and i hate
participating because i wonder what the
classmates will think of me
i dont like to talk sometimes because i
feel scared to make people not like me
all this has caused me alot of physical
symptoms-
my jaw hurts and i grind my teeth at
night
my chest feels tight all day and sometimes
its hard to breathe
i feel nauseous
i feel lightheaded sometimes (think that
may be from my tmj (jaw problem))
i was wonderign if this sounds like an
anxiety disorder such as social anxiety
disorder???thank u.

Anxiety... Posted: 05-22-07 21:54pm
Girly2006,
With anxiety, the intensity, duration, and
frequency of the worry are
disproportionate to the issue, and it is
often to a degree that disrupts or impairs
normal physical and psychological
functioning. Anxiety is often accompanied
by mild to moderate depression as well as
a number of physical symptoms including
muscle tension, increased blood pressure,
gastrointestinal discomfort, fatigue,
insomnia, and irritability. Anxiety is
believed to affect about 15% of the adults
in the United States (an estimated 19
million adult Americans), thus making it
more common than any other category of
mental health disorders.
In the field of psychology, anxiety is
broken down into five categories of
disorders:
* Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD)
* Panic Disorder
* Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
* Post-traumatic Stress Disorder
(PTSD)
* Phobias – either Social or
Specific1
Give all of this a look and remember there
is no magic pill to correct it, but a
change is diet, exercise, and perhaps some
supplements to support your body and
mind!!!
BEST OF LUCK!

is it really matter to give name for your
feeling, or to put it all together under
the catagory of anxiety? you feel
something thats make you be somebody' if
you will pay attention to the feeling
itself what happening to u in some
situation to your body ' what are you
thinking in the same time ? and what are
you doing you probably be able to command
the situation / you are the one that can
help to yourself. you have the ability to
do it by your own. take a breath ' and
listen.
