Flacid Penis Posture
Posted: 05-23-07 00:07am

my penis sits in somewhat of an upright posture when in the flacid state. i'm of average size yet this causes it to partrude noticably when i wear suit pants, etc. when erect my penis sits at about a 135 degree angle upwards. my main concern is how noticeable it is when flacid. I'm extremly self conscious about it and have been wearing my shirt untucked and doing anything i can to conceal this. has anyone ever heard of anything similar? could this have to do with the suspensory ligament of the penis? could this be caused by the positioning of the testciles? any response is appreciated but id love to hear from a doctor. is there a solution?

Any solution would probably harm your penis, such as surgery or medication to make it less erect even when you want it to be!

Not sure, but it sounds like your penis may just be sitting on your scrotum. How about when you're warm and your scrotum hangs more, does your penis still point outwards?

If pointing straight down is 0 degrees, what angle is it flaccid?

Is your flaccid penis very soft or does it have a firmness to it? Can it easily be bent and twisted?

These are just curious questions really, because it sounds like that's just how you are and remedies, like Eiri suggests, would probably just be detrimental.

I would say the angle is at least 45 degrees. It does seem to be somewhat firm while in this state. It could very well be a combination of the things you suggested. The problem does seem to get a little better when warm but still does not completly go away. I need to get it resolved because I've grown extremly self conscious of this.

45 degrees is about right, sometimes pointing down more. So it sounds like you're normal. Maybe your scrotum just provides more of a shelf or you're just more firm that it doesn't easily hide from clothes. Try heavier clothes like jeans.

If the firmness seems odd to you or you're really worried about it, go see a doctor.

Otherwise, it doesn't sound like a problem. Wear your bulge proudly.

Hey folks, there is a very simple solution to the problem and it won't cause any permanent damage. It is called underwear. You need to wear underpants which provide some support for your penis, such as basic white briefs. They should be tight enough to hold your penis upright, but not too tight to cause discomfort. An athletic supporter (jock strap) will do the same thing for you.
