Let's Get This Straight ... Posted: 05-23-07 16:37pm
When exactly do you ovulate?
I thought I knew, but Ava came so
unexpectedly we never planned around my
ovulation or anything. For her I ovulated
on day 32, but since I've been off of the
pill this time I had my first period
exactly 28 days later. So assuming that
I'm going to be regular and my last period
started April 19th, when will I ovulate?
I know ya'll hate these question, I do
too, but I'm so confused.

Usually 14 days before your next period is
due.
How do you know you ovulated on day 32
with .Ava? Are your periods usually
regular? Or do they fluctuate?

You ovulate 14days before your next
period. Are you already late for your
period?

We only had sex twice that month and it
was the time without the condom. It was
32 days after the first day of my last
period.

I thought it was around 14 days from the
start of your last period? Or is that the
same as what you said?

My bad, my last period started on May
17th, wrong month. I was thinking of last
month, so I will be ovulating on May 30th.
So have sex on that day?? I must sound
so stupid right now. I really knew all
of this.

You threw me off alittle bit with the
april thing
You should start bding I would say
starting the 27th and then every other day
until af shows, just to be safe. That way
you know you have your bases covered.

Well, my personal choice in the 'getting
pregnant' advice is to have sex every
other day. That way, you are bound to be
having an egg and sperm in the same
vicinity at approximately the same time
eventually.
Remember it can take the average couple
about a year to concieve and just because
you already have a child together - this
statistic doesn't change.
Good luck!

Thanks, perfect timing. Jesse gets off of
work tomorrow morning and he's off until
the 31st and I'm off starting Friday for
summer vacation (i'm a school teacher).
He better watch out!!

that only works if you have a perfect 28
day cycle.
ovulation comes before a period which is
why you can get pregnant before your first
period, before your period after giving
birth and before your period after a
miscarriage or termination.
if someone had an average 35 day cycle
they would be likely to ovulate around day
21 instead of 14.
this is not set in stone, some women are
early and some are late ovulators, some
even ovulate during their period.
it is impossible to know exactly when you
ovulate. If you are a dedicated charter
then it is possible to make an educated
guess at when your ovulation is, tracking
temps also allows you to pinpoint
ovulation - after the fact, meaning you
can look back and when you see a certain
dip-rise pattern occured that you ovulated
just before the dip-rise.
educated guesses based on pattern can be
fairly accurate but the only way to know
for sure is hormone screening.
