Wondering About the Diabetes Test.

Hi, I am going for the diabetes test where I have to drink that orange stuff in about a week and a half. Is it a urine test or a blood test? Anyone know? thanx

It is a blood test. You drink it and then wait one hour and they take your blood. It sucks but its not too bad. If you fail it then they make you come back for a three hour test where you repeat the process three times in three hours.

I had mine and it wasn't a big deal. I just watched Jeopardy while I waited and the time flew by. Also, I don't know if you are supposed to do this but I just chugged the stuff. It was actually kinda tasty. But then I have been craving Orange Crush since I got pregnant and the stuff tastes like that only sweeter.

I took mine a couple weeks ago and it was okay except for the orange tasting stuff I dont really like orange soda so it was kinda horrid for me, anyways its a blood test they made me fast also which made me very dizzy. lol but I didnt fail so I am in the clear

i think you are supposed to drink it fast, within 5 minutes or so.

i was given my drink to take home a few days before my test so i could drink it at home and not have to sit around a waiting room for an hour. i didn't think it was bad at all, it tasted just like orange soda and since it had been in my fridge it was nice and cold.

I am glad its a blood test because if it was a urine test I would freak out. I remember when I had to hold it for the 12 week ultrasound! Not a fun experience! LOL
