Possible Tmj ???
Posted: 05-24-07 22:30pm

well am new here...but have had symptoms for awhile.
headeache (forehead area), dizziness, very fatigued, some ear ringing.
Had an mri 2 weeks ago...showed nothing wrong. Have been taking ambien for sleep, now the doc has me on a muscle relaxer.
Am also seeing a chiropractor who is thinking tmj.
My jaw has always snapped. Could this be the reason?
Also, have seen online a supplement called serenitol?
Have you heard about this and does it work?
Exclamation

There is a good possibility that all your symptoms could be from TMJ. Getting good sleep is essential but as you may grinding your teeth at night, a bite splint may be needed. I highly recommend going to a dentist who dedicates a lot of his practice helping TMJ patients.

I will pray for you that you find the right help.
God bless...
Carol

update Shocked
I went to a local health food store today looking for serenitol.
Mentioned it to the chiro this am. Spoke w/ a man who works at the health food store. He asked my symptoms and diagnosis thus far...MRI etc.
He suspects I am deficient in magnesium ...gave me some trial packets of the powder that you mix w/ hot water to try. Told me to come back next week and let him know.
Have done some research online and it seems this could be a possibility.
Have had a couple spells w/ a low blood sugar reaction in the last month as well. My b/f is an insulin dependent diabetic ...he tested me the first time and my sugar was 58. It seem the magnesium could help there as well...what are your thoughts.
PS...this is a wonderful forum...thanks for being here.

Hello...me again. Wink
I have been using the magnesium "drinks" that the health food guru (LOL)
gave me...well between the chiro and that...I have had a few days w/o headaches. Sometimes it seems like I am imagining the lack of headache...but they are absent. FINALLY!
I do have another ??? though. W/ the tmj has anyone had the shiners?
OMG...am starting to look like a raccoon! Make up helps but this is crazy! Just wondering where the eyes are in the vicinity!!!
Again you are such a blessing.
Linda
PS....mentioned your site to my Chiro....he says you are a reliable source. He knows of your existence! Whooooo HOOOO!! Very
Happy

are you talking of the ehealth forum? I am at aloss as to which site you are talking of.lol im clueless right now.

you more than likely are not imagining the lack of headaches. that is a good sign. may it continue! Very
Happy

yeah i have racoon eyes. I dont get a whole lot of sleep so i try to blame it on that. Good thing my glasses hide some of it. if i dont wear them people wonder who punched me.lol

the most important thing that you can do is to keep up what you are doing and do all your docs tell you to the letter. most people dont do what the docs say and then whine about how they arent working for them and its their own fault. I know you wont be like that though. you have a good attitude about all of this. keep it up.
