Boyfriend abuse : is my throat swollen or bruised ?
Posted: 05-25-07 03:04am

I have had a arguement with my boyfriend just today, and he is very abusive, and he kept punching me and slaping me and whatnot, but one thing i'm afraid of that he did is that he punched my in my neck, and now when I swallow I used to hear something pop, but it doesn't anymore, but now all it is is pain when I swallow, do you think it's just swollen or bruised, or is anything wrong?

You may consult a specialist in otorhinolaryngology in order to exclude any internal lesions inside the throat as a result of the impact to your throat. You might also consider talking with a psychologist or mental health professional about the more serious issues of domestic violence and abuse that it seems you are a part of. No one needs to be in a physically, mentally, or emotionally abusive relationship....and with the help of a counselor you can learn about how and why you choose partners like this. As your mental and emotional wounds heal, you will begin to attract love and light to your life rather than darkness and abuse.
