What causes the taste of blood in the throat ? Posted: 05-25-07 05:00am
i tasted blood in my throat. this has been
normal for me since the 1st time i tasted
blood was during school last time. asked
my teacher whether its normal and he said
no. i didnt thought much abt it. though
now, its becoming frequent. so my question
is, what does usually cause this?
The throat is a part of the neck. It
consists of the pharynx and larynx. The
throat also contains blood vessels and
muscles of the pharynx. You can consider a
consultation with a throat specialist in
"otorhinolaryngology", because finding or
coughing blood from this area can be due
to many reasons such as bleeding gums,
laryngitis, bronchiectasis, bronchitis,
irritation of the throat via violent
coughing, nosebleed etc. To be sure, it
seems best to consult a specialist.
