I thought i'd better update you guys. On thursday i woke up with bad backpain and i knew that it wasn't normal, i had my breakfast then went up and laid in bed for a bit but the pain was getting steadily worse. At first my mum thought that .Mika could have moved into an awkward position and be laying on a nerve so i put off calling my midwife just incase she moved but the pain got worse and worse and started to average at ten minute intervals. My mum called my midwife and she told me to go straight to delivery because it sounded asthough i'd gone into premature labour.
When we got there i was hooked up the the machine that measures contractions and the baby's heart rate (can't remeber the machines name) and i was deffinatly having contractions. When i was first hooked up to the machine the contractions were measuring between 40 and 50 and within 20 minutes they were measuring the same as the average woman in the latest stages of labour Shocked . However when they did the internal examination my cervix wasn't dilated at all which surprised the staff because they thought that i would have .Mika that day because the contractions were so strong. it turns out that i have a really really bad uti which caused a reaction which made me have contractions so i'm on antibiotics and pain killers (which i must add are amazing!) I'm still having contractions now but thanks to the pain killers i don't feel any pain whatsoever.
I'm so glad that i didn't have .Mika this early, i'm now more than happy for her to stay in untill i'm 80weeks! Also i now have more faith in myself than ever to have a drug free labour because when i was having the really bad contractions i could deal with them, obviously it will be different when i'm actually in labour but now i have a little extra faith in myself which i'm happy about.
.Danni xxxx

I'm glad you weren't in labor. But, I'm sorry you had a bad uti. Hopefully, it will clear up soon.

I'm so glad i wasn't in labour either, i just wanted .Mika to hold on in untill her due date so i know she's had the best start in life and is only coming when she's ready

Oh my God what a day! I had a mild uti when I was about7 month gone and the doctor told me that if it got bad it could cause premature labour but I've never heard of anyone actually having that happen til now.

Hope .Mika stays where she belongs now! Wink

I think that I would've been freaking out! Of course you are allot further along than me and it wouldn't be as hard on your baby.

Uti's are soooo painful though. I feel for you girl. I had one in early pregnancy and then because of the antibiotics I got a yeast infection. Oh it was wonderful!
