Pre-OP requirements for spinal surgery : fusion cages / pedi Posted: 05-25-07 07:17am
a month or two ago i developed a feeling
of something caught in my throat, a was
worried and concerned, but as i was about
to consult my Dr it subsided.
unfortunately it has returned and as i am
awaiting a long awaited spinal operation i
am scared it may hamper chances of the
anaesthetic.
it is a none painful ? lump- none palpable
from the outside-none visible to throat
and does not effect swallowing feels right
sided and as if it flaps up and down and
catches am otherwise well( long standing
hypertension well controlled)- no weight
loss or heamoptosis.i am tempted to just
let the anaesthtist let me know if he see
any thing or should i sort it before and
hope it does not delay my op( as waiting
lists here are difficult to get to the top
of thank you for your consideration.

Given the description of the symptoms you
are experiencing (a feeling of something
caught in the throat, right sided lump),
it seems best that you consult an
otorhinolaryngologist (ENT specialist),or
your primary health care provider for a
check up ... before you go to operation!
