i have not posted here but been lurking for several months.... sorry this will be kinda long...... i am a basket case! i am a high high risk pregnancy, due to bladder cancer, pre eclampsia, an apendectomy at 4 months preg ect... i am lucky i have made it this long.... i am having a c section on tues at 8 am due to the preeclamsia and low fluid around the baby... i will be 1 day shy of 37 weeks... i had steroid shots at 34 weeks because of prterm labor, i guess i am just so scared that he will have problems because of being so early... can anyone else relate to an early delivery and maybe tell me what to expect and how your baby did at 36 37 weeks i need all the help i can get right now! thank you Question

I really don't know too much about this but I'm pretty sure things will be okay as far as "being early" goes. I'm pretty sure anything after 37 weeks is considered full term anyways so one day shy of full term shouldnt be a huge deal.
I'm sorry you've had such a rough pregnancy, you must be one tough chick to stick out during all this stuff. Kudos to you.
Try to take it easy and rest your mind, Tuesday you'll meet your little one! Smile
Good luck with everything!

I haven't had a c section but I've had surgery. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. it was during my pregnancy so it was really scary but in the end it was way worse in my mind leading up to it than how it played out. I understand the fear and anxiety but I'm sure you and baby will be fine. We give doctors a lot of flack around here sometimes but they really can do amazing things and i'm sure they will take great care of you. I'll say a little prayer for you and baby, that's what worked best for me. I had a lot of people praying for us and wishing us well. Good luck and try not to worry too much.

I think you will do fine with the c-section. I think knowing beforehand that you are having it is so much easier than having it done in an emergency. You have time to mentally prepare. My first one was an emergency, and I had a planned one in March and within 2 weeks I was back to doing nearly everything I normally do. Just take it easy and follow dr. orders. Let your housework slack, don't lift anything heavier than your baby, if you have stairs try not to climb them too much. The first time I had disposable stiches, the second time I had staples. Believe it or not I liked the staples better.
The procedure itself is done very often. The only think .I really detested was the spinal. You will do great!

As for the baby, 37 weeks is considered full term. If you went into labor, they probably wouldn't stop you. Everything is developed, the last 3 weeks he/she is gaining weight and that can be done outside too.

Believe me, I know it's hard not to stress but, you will do a great job! Tuesday night you will be holding your beautiful baby and you won't have another care in the world. Enjoy your last few days being pregnant.

Good luck, be sure to come back and let us know how you are!
