16 & pregnant

Hi, am sorry your going through this have u spoke to your boyfriend and told him that your pregnant! and have you done a test?
If you and your boyfriend love eachother and he is willing to stand by you. and didnt force you to have sex with him, i am sure it will be fine, your both responsible for the baby and you both wernt carfull. I am sure if you speak to your mum, and explain the situation. I dont think you need to fill anyforms for dads to be, They asked if i had a boyfriend, But if your that worried he could get put in jail, am sure you could just say im not sure.

i`m from tx. and yes i've told him. he's by my side 100% and plus he's living with me. and thanks about the info about the paper.. now i`m trying to get an OB GYN .. but i dont know yet. i've tooken the test. and it said that i`m pregnant. I been 9 days late since my period. plus can i just buy prenatal vitamins without doctor recomendation or folic acid.. i really dont want any birth defect.. i try to contact a OB GYN but they say call back in monday to get an appt. and they wont see me till im 8 wks pregnant.

regarding the rest, you start counting how far along you are by the first day of your last period. you say you're 9 days late, so that would put you over 5 weeks (based on the average 28 day cycle).

you're 9 days late, have you tested? there are other reasons aside from pregnancy that could cause your period to be late. before you panic, take a home pregnancy test.

if you are pregnant, you're right around when most people find out so you can't have been expected to be taking prenatal vitamins (especially since this was unplanned). you can buy prenatal vitamins at pretty much any pharmacy as well as target and walmart.

as for what to eat, you can eat whatever you normally eat. just stay away from undercooked meats, sushi, limit your intake of fish that's high in mercury (like canned tuna). most doctors will give you a packet of pregnancy info at your first appointment, it should include what foods to avoid and what medicines are okay.

that's great that you're telling your mom. it's better to tell her now than to wait. let us know how it goes!

you can buy folic acid at any pharmacy/chemist yes i bought mine b4 i saw a doctor! you will be fine. they will ask you if you have a boyfriend when u see a midwife. But you dont have to tell them that you have one. isnt really there business! xxx am sure you be fine
just rest and takecare of your self. dont do too much lifting and things

you know when you see your midwife and she fills out your preg record with info on you and your partners name!! I think she means that cause she is only 15 and her bf is 19 and its classed as underage sex! I think thats what she means. i jus said say u dont know who the farther is!! it may be diff tho where she lives to england where i live dunno

my boyfriend is an adult and it would be illegal to date a minor. so when
they find out they could put him in jail for child molesting or sexually harasment. and i said the doctor will say something because he's asian. well asian doctors are very judgemental from how you look. i don't think that they can do anything about your boyfriend if your parents tell them that they don't want to press charges.

so just talk to your parents, ask them what they think about the situation with your boyfriend and ask them not to press charges, i think you'll be in the clear from there, but i'm not completely sure.

thanks for answering guys. but even if my parent wont press charges state law will` ... so i`ll listen to jaimie and say not sure and just tell them i want "name" to be the baby's daddy since i dont have one and it`ll be my boyfriend. is folic acid and prenatal vitamins two diff things? so can i take both`? i`m seriously scare about birth defect.

well the reason that i say to talk to your parents about it is because my friend is 17 and has 2 kids with a 20 year old and the law didn't do anything because her mom didn't want to press charges.

ok, ive done a bit of research here for you

first off general knowledge...since he is over 18 he could be charged with statatory rape (not sexual harrasment or molestation), also he can not be charged with anything for dating you, only haveing sex...no one can take away your right to see someone if you both want to see eachother, but they dont have to allow you sexual contact with them

if the baby is going to have a birth defect its going to happen, prenatals dont really change it much, they help the baby to be healthy but it wont be life or death if you dont get them right away (although you should start as soon as you can), folic acid is in prenatals so dont take both, some people take a regular vitamin with a folic acid suppliment because their bodys react badly to the prenatals

you dont NEED to put anything down about the father on any document, what about the women who are raped (or the ones who are just s|utty) and dont now the father? no one can force you, although it is used to determin if the baby is at higher risks for somethings depending on if there are family histories on either side of these problems

it is not unusual to have to wait to see the doc, i had to wait until i was 12 weeks, so 8 weeks isnt that odd, anyway thats only what, probably about 3 more weeks or so?

that bit about the doc saying something because hes asian...that sounds a little rude to me...any doc could say something, he doesnt have to be asian to not like something someone does, ive had a doctor flat out call me stupid before when i got a uti because i was having sex...i was 17 at the time and she still called me stupid, well now im married to the guy and we are expecting our first kid any day now, shows her

the age of consent in texas is 17, but they have a defence to the law that says as long as there is no more then 3 years difference between the age of the "victim" and the age of the "defentant" they are not considered a sex offender

However , "...It is an affirmative defense to prosecution under this section that the actor...was not more than three years older than the victim and of the opposite sex...(and) did not use duress, force, or a threat against the victim at the time of the offence" and is not a registered sex offender {Section 21.11(b)" (wikipedia)

so he would have a good defence even if the state tried to press charges

but im not completly sure they would, how are you so positive, ive been having sex with my (now) husband since i was 16...when i was 16 he was 20, no one did anything about it, i got pregnant at 17 and my (then) boyfriend came with me to the appointments and they knew exactly how old he was and how old i was and no one said anything about it

state. your state has the age of consent IS 17 so your
friend was fine. My state is also 17 but i had sex
before 16 and will deliver 8 months before i am 17. so
that kind of sucks. well. i guess i`ll just ask the doctor
if i say the age will anything happen.. if so then i wont
say anything. I have told my parents that i am now
pregnant and they approve so there will be no charges
press on him but also hopefully not press by state either.
i hope they wont go down hunting in the hospital or ob/gyn for
the info about him. Anyways. for the update i am now 7 weeks and
one day. the nurse says my baby's heart beat is in a good range.

Ok. . . Ummm I am from Louisiana and I was 16 when I got pregnant and my son's father was 19.
He went to the first few doctor appt. with me and I gave all out information. The hospital will not turn your info into the police. Trust me thats just silly. Unless you were to go in there all bruised up cause he's beating you but No you're going in thir because you're having a baby and thats all they are worried about.
You should tell them everything they need to know && yes it is their buisness cause they need details to be able to help you and your child.
As much as people make it out to be it's not easy to press charges for statutary rape. . . and the doctors wouldn't pick it up. I can't stress that enough cause I don't want you to be frightened of going to see an OBGYN and getting the proper care that you need.
Louisiana state laws say that once you have conceived a child and you're under the age of 18 you're legally imancipated which pretty much means you've divorced your parents and you're seen as an adult.
You're able to sign legal documents without your parents being there and your parents can not come back and charge your boyfriend. I only know about the laws in Louisiana though I'm not sure about Texas even though I live here.
