Question On Peoples Thoughts On Genital warts Posted: 05-26-07 11:20am
im new so hello everyone. i have
hpv/genital warts, ive had 2 small ones
for 4-5 yrs now. its been a killer to stay
away from women(im male) but i cant do it,
ive tried freezing but ended up not going
after a few weeks because it was killing
me going. now the nurse said i dont have
much to worry about as they are small and
few but they are still there in my eyes.
just wondering i do smoke,im trying real
hard to stop, how successful have people
been in warts going when they gave up
smoking and also does anyone reccomend
anything for the immune system as thats
what keeps them at bay,right???
also has anyone tried viranol, ive seen a
few posts on it but they seem like ppl who
work for viranol posting to sell the
product then an actual person using it.
thanks for listening

That's great that you are planning on
quitting smoking. You're right that
smoking can increase your chances of
having an outbreak, although I don't know
by exactly how much.
Vitamin C is what you need for your immune
system. You can take a multi-vitamin or
just a vitamin C pill from any drug store
if you are not doing so already. Fruit
juice is also great for getting vitamin
C.
I have never used vironal, so I can't give
you any first hand information there.
Here is their website if you want it
viranol.com/?af=583573. You're right that
they seem to be wanting to sell stuff more
than really give out information or
anything though. You could ask your
doctor if he or she knows anything about
it.
If you are planning on having a partner,
make sure she knows what's going on.
Condoms do not completely eliminate the
possibility that she will get it, but they
do reduce the chances that she will.
There is also a fairly new HPV vaccine
that might help to protect her.
