Anyone On the Pill Ever Felt This?
Posted: 05-27-07 16:52pm

I know that the birth control pill is supposed to make your body think it's pregnant, but does that include a firmer lower abdomin? Last time i was pregnant my lower abdomin became harder where the uterus is, I am on birth control and always paranoid it's not going to work!! I've been having some syptoms of pregnancy that could very well just be effects from the pill or signs that my period is coming. I am on the last week of pills and I should be getting my period by saturday. IF ovulation had taken place it would have been last weekend, and i did have a lot of intercourse over that weekend. I don't usually notice a harder lower abdomin, I've only been on these pills for 3 months now. I've also been experiencing frequent urination which seems to be clearer than usual but i haven't been drinking more than i usually do, my breasts seem a little more senstive than usual but the blue viens in them are more noticable and my face hasn't cleared up completely from my last period (it usually does). I had my wisdom teeth removed two days ago and I am taking tylenol 3 and amoxicillin antibiotics, but these syptoms appeared before I started taking these medications. If anyone could let me know what they think of all this that would be appreciated! thanks!

The pill messes up when you ovulate, so just because it's 14 days before your period, doesn't mean that if you miss pills, you're going to ovulate. You're actually far more at risk of ovulating if you miss the new active pills after your inactive week.

The sore breasts, acne and firm abdomen are all normal symptoms of pms too. I can't say why your acne didn't go away, the pills may be affecting that. I also don't know if you really are urinating clear more often, or if that's just somethhing you're noticing in an attempt to discover more symptoms. I do it too.

The only way you'll know is to wait and see if you have a normal period. If you have been taking your pills properly then your chances of being pregnant are very low.
