Have you talked to your doctor about it?
It's typically treated with rest and
sometimes ice for as much as a few months.
There may be exercises that you can do as
well to prevent it from happening again.
In most people, the rest is enough to get
rid of the problem. Usually, when the
problem persists and even gets worse, it
is because the person is not resting like
they should be. If you are physically
active, you might not want to rest that
knee for a few months, but a few months of
inactivity is a lot better than being in
pain for the rest of your life.
"In most people, Osgood-Schlatter disease
goes away on its own with a little rest
and time. If your child ignores or plays
through the pain, the disease may get
worse and may be more difficult to
treat."
