No, it's actually good advice if she's your long term partner. My own fiancee gently suggested it to me too about a year and a half ago, as I'd never done it before and I am a jungle down there!! I believe he actualy suggested that he shave me himself, and I wasn't comfortable with that so I said I'd do it myself. Well, I tried it for him, as I love him very much... and I love it!!! I can't imagine not being at least trimmed nowadays, it feels so clean and neat...

I can totally agree that hair during oral is nasty XD I don't like inhaling curls Wink or getting it stuck in th back of my throat (the worst!)

I give my wife a trim once every few months. This makes oral sex more pleasant for both of us and we both like the way she looks!

I don't like the idea of suggesting shaving to her either. I say it's her body and she should do what she wants. I don't shave or trim at all and would not be happy about my partner suggesting it.

Even though I do not shave or trim none of my partners seemed to get hair in their mouths. During oral sex, most women like the clitoris to be stimulated. The clitoris does not usually have hair on it. The hairy parts are the lips, which can usually be held open and out of the way fairly easily.

That is unless you have so much hair that it makes a visible lump in bathing suits, and must be at least shaved along the bikkini line or you'll have curly hair sticking out in fluffs! Razz Until you've have an enormous curly wiery forest down there, (and if you do I apoligize) someone can never know the joys of removing that mess. I went "Oh... so that's what I look like down there! Hello vulva! Haven't seen you since puberty!"

Oh, yeah, mine would be a visible lump with hair sticking out the edges if I wore a little bathing suit too. Laughing So I just don't wear them! Laughing I almost never swim or go to the beach, but there are alternatives for those who do and are opposed to shaving, such as wearing regular cutoff shorts or a boy short-style bikini bottom, depending on how much hair there is. When I had to swim in gym class in high school, I always opted for the cutoff shorts. I had a friend who also did not shave. She wore a yellow bathing suit that she did not initially realize was see through when wet.... Laughing

Oh man I can sympathise XD I like the skin-tight shorts version of bikini bottoms too, but that's more because of my birth mark.

I was on swim team, and the big thing for that is, of course, incredibly tight, close-cut bathing suits XD So I was in the water a lot. I'm not as much anymore, but I just feel cleaner and more confident shaved or trimmed.

I just wanted to say that after reading over this whole thread, it totally cracks me up!

From the original poster wanting to know about getting past the bush, and then the reply "shave" and then the original poster saying that's not a worthwhile reply...now c'mon, that's funny stuff. How else you gonna get past the pube afro, watst003???

Logic.

And if you are comfortable lapping up someone's clit juice then surely you are comfortable asking someone to trim up a little.

Human beings are so strange about their bodies and sex.

Of course, I'm not advocating passing out the scissors and shavers to all. God bless the hippies. My next door neighbor, now, she doesn't shave at all. I know this because I can see the marmot growing out of her armpits. And she doesn't believe in curtains. And our bathrooms line up visually, and once night I looked over there, and lo and behold, a vulture's nest. Seriously, Lewis and Clark would get lost in there.

I am surprised that so many people seem to think shaving is a requirement. Some girls like to shave for their own sake. They just think it feels cleaner. That's fine.

Shaving just for someone else, on the other hand, is pretty ridiculous in my opinion. Shaving is not required for sex or oral sex. The guy already said he does not want to ask her to shave for him. It's absurd to act like having her shave is their only logical option.

I think that shaving is alot better. My ex bf suggested it, literally just brought up in a conversation. he said would you like me to trim. i was like i really dont mind, would you like me too. he said i dont mind, and one day i did it and he loved it.... same as my bf now loves it.
Its great.... alot cleaner i think.
You dont have to say to her shave. just bring up in a convo.

it's certainly not a "requirement". But, on the other hand, many women personally like how they feel shaved or trimmed, and that's got nothing to do with a mate Wink as I think birch mentioned.

Yeah, "au naturale" can be a... thing. Some people like that. But I also know girls who don't believe in soap as a cultural thing (these are the people with dreadlocks (don't want to stereotype, but yeah) and patchwork hippie clothing) and... yeah. I would not want to touch their nether regions. Funk-ay!

Many women of all kinds do shave, and many women of all kinds do not shave. It does not mean they are a hippie, do drugs, don't bathe, are dirty, or anything else.

That's why I said "I also know". It was meant to exclude the two groups from each other. As I said before, I used to be au naturale too, but it wasn't a cultural thing or a religious thing... I'd just plain never seriously thought of doing it. And obviously, I wasn't a hippie, nor do I do drugs, I do bathe, etc. But, there are also girls who, on top of being au naturale, also so not use soap. It was mean to be funny for goodness' sake >:/

And the ones where Lewis and Clark get lost in? What would you call those? Wink

Hey man, if you want oral, and the hair bothers somebody, it's just courteous to trim up a bit. It's not a requirement, it's just thoughtful.

Well, I didn't see you post any ideas. What other logical option would you suggest?

I told the guy about how the clitoris is usually where women like to be stimulated during oral sex. The clitoris does not usually have hair on it, so the hairy parts can usually be held out of the way. (I use "usually" a lot because everyone is a bit different).

Maybe he has tried that, and she has enough hair that that does not really work, I don't know. However, I think it is pointless for everyone to suggest shaving over and over when our original poster said he does not like the idea.

It's not that he doesn't like the idea of shaving... it's that he didn't want to order his girl to shave. I think the other posters said it better, in the realm of "suggesting" it. He could even shave himself as a first example and then ask if she likes it better that way and plant the idea.

Look if he can deal with the hair then great. But aside from moving it out of the way, like llewellyn suggested, there just isn't any other option.
