Got Upset On Monday ...

Well Courtney had'nt been moving around as much as usual over the weekend so Alan said to put our mind at rest ring the hospital and chat to a midwife so i did and she asked if i could come in to the hospital and after the phone call i just burst into tears i thought there was something wrong or she would'nt want me to come in so it seemed like forever to get to the hospital and Alan was worried to but he was telling me everything would be fine. So we got there and i had to give her a urine sample and then we got to listern to heartbeat and i was so happy i started crying again! She measured my tummy and asked how often she kicks and it's more then 10 in 12 hrs and she was happy with that and said the heartbeat is strong what a relief!! She tested my urine and she said there's glucose in it and when i have my 28 week appt next week if it shows again then i have to have some kind of test done for diabetes even though there is'nt any in my family.

I've been making a note how often and when she kicks 'cause its still not as much but oh the midwife did say my placenta is around the front so maybe she's kicking but there faint 'cause the placenta is in the way?

Sorry for the long post but that was quite scary. I had all the worst thoughts going though my head at the time and then to hear her heartbeat was great. Very
Happy

Aww hun I know the feeling. It's devastating even when you just think something is wrong!
I think I was only about 23 weeks when I first went to he hospital. I'm rh- and needed a shot because I was spotting... but i was also cramping and she wasnt moving and it was horrible.
They put me in triage and hooked me up to all these machines... one to moniter the baby's movement and one to see if I was having contractions.
I was still pretty early so I barely felt her move anyways ..but it felt like forever since I even felt a bubble!
Then the nurse came in to find the heartbeat and had a horrible time finding it... my ex was with me at the time (biggest problem ever Laughing )
and even he almost started crying because she just couldnt get it... but she was usuing a machine they use on people farther along... so she whipped out the doppler and found her in no time!
I have never been more relieved in ALL my life.
Just thought I'd share my little scare with you Smile
Im sure we'll all have plenty more and then when she actually comes , haha knowing me I'll probably live in fear!
I already worry like a mom! Very
Happy

I'm very happy everything turned out for you!

I'm glad things are okay. I had a similar scare where the baby was really active then it seemed like nothing happened for a whole day and I was freaked out! I ended up doing a kick count and counted 10 kicks but I was still worried. The next time I saw the doctor she had barely touched my tummy with the doppler and the baby's heartbeat was so loud!! She said "wow, we've got a live one here!". Just goes to show you never know but you sure can worry a lot! Shocked

Wow...how scary!!

I'm glad everything turned out fine. I really hope I don't every go through anything like that. I don't know how I would handle it. Did they give you a sonogram while you were there or did they just do the doppler?

Thanks me too i was so worried something bad had happened to her, it's amazing how close we are to our bumps i'm glad you was ok too. how many weeks are you now?

MC4EVER02- I just had the little hand held machine that i normally get with my midwife appt i guess thats the doppler, she said i was too early to be linked up to a machine which listerns to her heartbeat for half an hour but she listerned to her heartbeat for like 10 mins which was nice.
