What can I do about Hernia ? Painful abdominal tissue during Posted: 05-30-07 07:40am
I appear to have abdominal tissue coming
through a possible split between the
abdominal muscles (known as abs). It is
somewhat painfull and notice it when doing
situps.
Could this be happening? What can I do
about it?

It seems that you are describing a hernia.
A weakness or split in the muscle wall of
the abdomen is called a "hernia". Hernias
allows the abdominal contents (usually
some part of the intestine) to bulge out.
This bulge usually occurs during coughing,
straining, or simply standing. If the
symptoms are severe enough, the hernia is
surgically repaired. There are different
surgical approaches used by doctors to
help solve this problem. To get a
diagnosis, however, you may consult your
primary health care doctor first.
