to Tell My Doctor Your Opinion Posted: 05-30-07 18:02pm
Okay so its not the physicians fault that
they no nothing about headaches, as far as
research. I have been suffering for 6
years now, almost constantly, and this is
supposed to be th ebest part of my life.
(My story below)
And yet you see a doctor, and they always
act as if your symptoms are not related -
I think the 1000s of people who write on
these forums are proof that the symptoms
do mean something...I am sure they are
doing their best with research- but
usually only for meds.
And if you are me, with no insurance- you
will only be prescribed meds everytime- I
have literally been crying in pain at my
doctors and not one has thought i need an
mri (maybe they just cant refer me w.o
insurance) although im not sure that
something would show up- but come on there
must be some structure to collect our
scans and figure out what this condition
is - becaus eit is not just pain....its
not just stress.
Im sure weve all been told oh its
caffiene, or the heat or the cold, or lack
of sleep or too much sleep, or too much
excersise or not enough. And its very
frustrating to always be treated just as a
perosn that is symptomatic of their
lifestyle.
If I had chest pains like this they would
test and test until they figure dotu what
it was.
But like I said, maybe we all suffer form
some condition(s) that they have yet to
disover. We MUST b/c there is no way my
leeky nose or stabbing neck that you all
so perfectly describe for me is something
I am a lonely complainer of.
Ill post my story next and welcome any
advice, especially any diagnoissi others
w/ my sympotms have got- so that maybe I
will be able to save up & see a
specilaist with some ideas in mind.

Hi Posted: 05-30-07 18:23pm
You did not specify your age, but I have
had migraines/headaches for the last 30
years. I have been to many neurologist and
had CAT scans, Sonograms. MRIS's EEG's you
name it, I've had it preformed. TO NOT
AVAIL. Blame it on like you said caffeine,
hormones, stress......you are correct in
doctors not really having a clue, only an
educated guess...In 1999, I had a severe
headache that caused me to black out,
ended up having to have a cariotomy
because of a brain anuerysm. Can you not
go to an ER and hold you head as if you
are dying and carry on enough of a
commotion, that Drs will take you in to
run these test? DO NOT check in and tell
them you have no insurance, hold your head
as though it were about to burst and
really put up a commotion. Go straigt in
and find a nurse cry like no
tomorrow....... The last thing they would
want is for you to have an anuerysm and it
burst......Thankfully (the Lord above) I
have a clip in my head. Mine did not
burst, but I was taken by ambulance
because I blacked out and crashed my car.
I am not telling you this to frighten you.
My grandmother died from an anuerysm, same
place 12 years ago. My paternal
Grandmother had a history of having
headaches. I am not about to get on pain
meds, so havelearned to do alternative
things. Oh, have you ever considered you
ahve a food allergy? Have oyu ever kept a
journal of when you have these headaches?
What you have eaten or drank before they
occur, what event happened prior the
headache?
