Insane Pain

I can't remember anytime I've been in
anywhere near this much pain. Since 2004.
This is like the pains I got at 14 weeks
pregnant (about a month before surgury).
It just builds and builds, I can control
it quite a bit by breathing it but man
it's intense. Then it'll suddenly drop for
a breif moment before building again.
And it's all on the right hand side and
through my cervix - no pain to the left at
all.
Just kinda feels like someone is using my
ovary as a stress ball.
I don't want to call my doctor a) because
I know what will be said and b) because so
far I'm coping.
I don't like to use painkillers (I hate
the idea of masking the symptom and not
treating the cause) I don't even use them
for migraines - I use a menthol stick
which opens the vessels in the head and
neck and use pain management breathing.
I've got a high "internal pain" threshold
so the fact I'm being bothered by this
tells me it's at least a 7-8 on a 1-10
scale.
Strange really that I'm a wimp for
"external pain" - like if ya hit me, I'd
probably cry

sounds really odd. I have a high pain
threshold as well. But when it gets up
there then it gets harder to manage the
longer it goes on.
So its like a new pain?
I would hate to be in that much pain, i
prob wouldnt be able to sit here and type
and sit up straight ill tell ya that much.
What would the dr tell you? To go to the
ER? Sucks you have to go through all this
stuff with drs and crap its gotta be a
royal pain, Hopefully you get it figured
out soon. Hope your doing ok

 umm... it wouldn't
be an ectopic because you and .steve
haven't been having sex, right?
but umm... that sounds pretty serious,
hon. You might want to call.

I am so sorry you are going through this!
I know that sometimes I just wish that
they would cut off my legg! When do you go
see your specialist? ? I agree with you on
the pain killers but sometimes you have to
do what you have to do and dr's are so
good about writting out prescriptions or
calling something a syndrome because they
don't have the real answers. Have you
tried a hot water bottle on the area. I
hope that you find some relief somehow!
Are you still bleeding? I do kind of
agree, I would at least call the dr. I
don't think you are a whimp!

It's like period pain only much much
worse.
Although to be honest at the moment it's
dropped to a discomfort (around a 1.5-2)
My doctor would just tell me to take pain
killers - that he'd prescribe me
co-codamol if paracetamol wasn't strong
enough and to hold out until I see the
endocrinologist on the 28th June.
Definately not ectopic - I haven't had sex
this year yet lol
I handed my appendix over to the medical
field in 1992
by the time I complained of pain it was
severely infected with gangrene and it
burst during the operation but before they
had actually removed it.
I have a gorgeous 6" scar from that!
and yup still bleeding. I'm on 20mg
progesterone (5mg is birth control) per
day and I'm still bleeding through it lol
- yup at the moment I can laugh - I'll cry
later. As of today we are on period day
64!
nov 28 - dec 07 - 10 day period - 73 day
cycle.
feb 09 - mar 05 - 25 day period - 48 day
cycle.
mar 29 - now - period!
dec 20th and 27th were when I had my faint
positives then I had negatives on 22nd,
28th and also 1st jan

That sounds awful...did the pain come on
suddenly, or has it been gradually
building?
I posted this in my thread too, but, I'm
so confused about progesterone. That is
what My dr rx me to start my period But
in a higher mg. Maybe, yours is too high
and thats why your still bleeding? I'm
reaching here. Because honestly, I have no
idea.
Is there any way to get your appt with
your endo moved up?

the pain has built up over the past few
days.
I've written up a brief explanation in
your post about progesterone but no too
high a dose won't lead to bleeding.
(for anyone wondering why go read
Christy's post )
It's too little progesterone which is
causing me to bleed (or too much estrogen
depending on how you look at things).
For now this dosage is stopping the
bleeding from being heavy.
And it'll have finished in time to clear
my system before I see the endocrinologist
guy.
So he'll be able to get a clear view of
what my hormone levels are and hopefully
balance them out again.
As you can imagine I am loathe to control
my cycles with birth control because this
further reduces any chances of pregnancy
spontaneously happening (although I hear
sex is also involved in that )
A worrying factor is that sustained high
levels of estrogen often lead to an
increased risk of conditions such as
osteoporosis.
women who never have a full term pregnancy
are at a greater risk.
This is believed to have connections to
the low estrogen, high progesterone state
of pregnancy being sustained over an
extended period.

Sex does help in the baby making
process.
I have considered going back on birth
control and just royal screwing it up just
to see what would happen. It's worked for
other people!
Yeah, I'm on 400mg a day. (2 200mg tables
at bed). But I can see why you would want
to have things, at least kinda,
straightened out by the time you see the
endo.
I really hope your are feeling better
soon. Since you are on this med you
wouldn't have ovulated right? So there's
no way its a cyst. Other than that, I
don't really know. Sorry, I wish I could
be of more help.

I don't think I've ovulated since I got my
faint positive (which my doc and I believe
to have been a blighted ovum) back in
dec.
I think I ovulated on dec 13 (my bday lol)
and I haven't since which is why I think
my cycles are so messed up.
I understand why my doc is giving me
progesterone - and from his position I
agree with him.
but what I hope the endocrinologist will
do is prescribe a course of hormones that
will stimulate the follicles (a bit like
they do when you do egg donation) and
cause a cycle to begin from that point
instead.
