I was told on January 1, 2007 that I was
1-2 weeks pregnant. So I've been following
that until today. I was 23 weeks pregnant
or so I thought, but according to the
ultrasound I'm 25 weeks.
I'm trying to figure out the a close date
to that which I conceived, and I can't do
it based on my menstrual cycle because I
miscarried the day after Thanksgiving of
2006. So I never had a period between
pregnancies. Can anyone help?

there's no such thing as 1-2 weeks
pregnant. if that's what you were told
they must have meant that was the baby's
gestational age, which would've meant you
were 3-4 weeks pregnant. it's very
confusing but the first 2 weeks of your
pregnancy, you're not actually pregnant
yet.
so according to your u/s you're 25 weeks,
which means you would've conceived approx
23 weeks ago.
does this make sense? i'm sorry, i'm not
good at explaining things.
(i'm hoping someone else will reply to
this and explain it better.)

Bridget explained it fine.
25 weeks pregnancy is the same as 23 weeks
of gestation.
pregnancy is counted from the first day of
your last menstrual period (based on a 28
day cycle).
so you actually ovulate at the end of week
2 of the pregnancy, and implantation of
the embryo takes place around the
middle/end of end of week 3.
This is why for an accurate pregnancy test
it is best to wait until your period is
missed.
When you miss your period you are said to
be 4 weeks (approx) pregnant.
At this point the embryo is of 2 weeks
gestation and may have been implanted for
as little as 4 days.
