Pregnancy After a Tubal????
Posted: 05-31-07 21:19pm

Question I have the same question as many women on here have had and I have to admit it is very scary. I had a tubal on March 30th 1999 the day after my daughter was born and my tubes were both cut and burnt. I have been having a lot of leakage out of my breast for the last week I have never had this before and I’m a little concerned that this may me symptoms of a pregnancy. I still have a little more then a week before my period is supposed to start I took a home test today and it came out negative was it to early to take a test? I am very nervous because I had a back injury that causes spasms and I take medication for it. I feel like I should stop taking my medication just in case. How likely is it that I could be pregnant?

Well, rarely a tubal ligation fails, but it's not common.

Usually, leakage from the breast is more a sign of an infection or hormonal imbalance (high prolactin levels). Sometimes, high prolactin levels can be caused by certain medications as well. It's generally not an early sign of pregnancy for most women.

Yes, I do think it was too early to test. There are some tests which give you results 5 days before your period (though they cheat a little with the 5th day being the actual day your period is due), but when you test early, the box usually says something like 30% of pregnant women will have a positive result 4 days before they expect their period.

Wait until your period is late and test again. Stress and illness can also cause irregularities in your cycle.
