Medical Malpractice ? Need Answers .....

hi. I'm a new member. I'm having a lot of health problems right now that I'm dealing with so I figured I'd join this forum so I can get advices and opinions.

Right, now my question is not about myself but my friend's mother who died just 2 days ago during an operation to remove her myoma. The doctor's explanation was that "-her nerves got shocked and would not accept blood supply"- and so she died.

Is there really a case like that or was there a negligence on the doctor's part?

My friend said that two of her mother's co-worker had that operation with that same doctor and they were good that's she decided to go to that doctor.

Malpractice is a very complicated term. Sometimes there are bad outcomes. Your friend's mom may have had other health issues, etc. If there really is a concern that the doc did something negligent, get all the records and go see a medical malpractice attorney. They can review the records and determine whether or not there is anything to pursue.

Could have been negligence, but in all honesty, the doctor might have very well have been telling the truth, and there was nothing he/she could have done. The body does sometimes reject blood supplies and go into shock and shuts down.

Check the records, talk to an attorney if you want, but sometimes you just have to admit that things don't always go your way. In fact, sometimes it was an honest mistake by the doctor. Really, the guilt of having messed up will probably be enough if that is the case.

Malpractice is delicate and shouldn't be taken lightly or as revenge or just wanting someone to pay for the loss.

Seems like she was in shock, which is where there would be low blood flow. This would result in damage to the cardiovascular network and subsequent death. It would depend on if they had taken a cross match early for blood products, when they transfused blood/fluids and exactly how the patient died.
