I have had my IUD for 7 months. I have
never been able to feel my strings on my
device until lately. I started feeling a
uncomfortable, almost itchy, poking
sesation in my vagina. I thought maybe I
was getting an infection. I decided to a
check for my IUD and with much surprise I
felt the strings, a lot of the strings. I
have never felt them before so I have
started worring. I'm thinking about
talking with my doctor about this, but I
wanted to check with you guys to see if
anyone has had this problem before. Any
info would help.

can you feel hard plastic or just the
strings? when i had the iud it dispelled
from my womb and i could feel the hard
plastic of the bar.
if you are unsure you should get it
checked out by your doctor just to be on
the safe side

I can only feel the strings. My doc told
me that he cut them short. My husband has
only felt the strings once before but he
said he feels them everytime now. I wasn't
sure if there was a problem becasue of
this.

You should be able to feel the strings as
that is how you can tell if it's in
position but if you are concerned go to
your doc to put your mind at ease

I would get it checked. THey'll just peek
in and see if it has moved, and if they
aren't sure they might do an ultrasound.
My doc said that if I was ever concerned,
just to come in and she'll take a peek,
and I did a couple of times. It's worth
the peace of mind.

Yes I would definately have it checked
out. It is possible that it has maybe
settled down in your cervix a bit more.
But it is important to get it checked just
in case because when they are positioned
wrong they can preforate your uterus.
