No Signs of My Period, Negative Test Results. Posted: 06-03-07 13:47pm
So here's the deal...
In april I was taking birth control, so
i'm pretty sure I got my period in the
last week. I didn't take birth control or
get my period in may. I'm still waiting to
hope it comes within the next few days. I
took a pregnancy test this morning and it
showed negative.
Could going off the birth control have
anything to do with my period being late??
Any thoughts?...I could really use some
help!!!

Did you have unprotected sex since going
off birth control? If not, it is highly
unlikely that you are pregnant.
No form of birth control is 100%, but I
never had a problem using condoms when I
was trying to avoid pregnancy. Unless the
condom broke or something, then yes, you
could be pregnant.
It can take awhile for your cycles to get
back to normal after stopping birth
control pills. My first cycle off the
pill was 35 days. I've known other women
to go a couple of months before getting
their periods again after stopping the
pill, while still others go right back to
28 day cycles. If you were regular before
the pill, hopefully your cycles should
regulate after a few months. By the 2nd
month off the pill, my cycle had gone to
30 days and from then on, it was 27-28
days.

Thank you so much for replying!!
The only method of safe sex I've ever been
able to use has been the pill. So, yes I
have had unprotected sex since I have gone
off of my birth control.
I do have polycystic ovarion syndrome, so
I have always had irregular periods.
So with all of these things combined
together, I don't know what to think
except to wait a couple more days and take
another test.
