Infant/toddler Bedtime

I was curious to see what time your little ones go to bed. I'm reading the no cry sleep solution for the 2nd time. This time I'm determined to follow the guidelines and log her naps and night wakings. I think she may be going to bed too late. Night before last she was in bed for 8:30 and she sleep really well, last night we had dinner at my parents then Jesse wanted to play with her. Well she was a monkey utnil 10:30. She was soooo crazy, crawling and trying to walk and yelling. She couldn't calm down to go to sleep. Well she didn't sleep good at all last night, waking up every hour or two. She's been clingy and cranky after her last nap. i'm starting to think she's napping too late (5-6:30) and really wants to go to bed instead. I'll keep an eye on her and try to put her to bed around 7 tonight. I'm also going to add things to our bedtime routine to help her calm down. She's soooo active!!! Sorry so long, just trying to explain why I want to know about your kiddies.

finn goes to bed at 7:30 every night. he has himself on a very rigid schedule.

this is our evening routine:

5:30- nick and i eat dinner and finn sits with us and has snacks
6:00- finn gets his dinner
6:15- he plays for a bit
6:45- bath
7:00- story and bottle
7:30- right to bed and he sleeps until 7:30-8am

depending on if he has one of those cookie things, the bath and playtime might be reversed. his internal clock is very precise though, even if we switch up the routine a bit he always knows when it's bedtime.

Do you do the book/bottle in a dim lit room? I can't believe I never realized before that she really wants to go to bed early. Every time she takes a nap pass 5, she's very cranky and clingy and is aggitated until she goes back to sleep. If Jesse comes home and gets her going, it's a nightmare. She just woke up at 4:06, I'll feed her at 5:45, let her play with daddy, bath, book, bottle, and then to bed by 7:00 and see how that goes tonight.
Can you come spend a week with me and work your magic on Ava? I hope I get a Finn next time. lol

lol, i have no magic to work. finn has made his bedtime since he was about 4 weeks old, he'd go a few weeks at one time and then move it back, go a few weeks, move it back, and so on and here we are at 7:30.

we don't do the book and bottle in a dim lit room, we're in the living room and nick does the finn stuff and i watch tv. sometimes nick tries to snuggle him after his bottle but finn won't have it and i make him put him to bed. he puts him in his crib and finn puts his head right down and goes to sleep. i seriously couldn't have it any better.

he doesn't really have a nap routine, but he usually takes a nice 1 1/2-2 hour morning nap and a good 2-2 1/2 hour nap in the afternoon.

ava doesn't seem all that high maintenance but maybe next time you will get a finn!

Having 2 older kids can make it very tight at night.

My boys get home 4pm, i start dinner almost right away while .Brian gets his homework done. We eat between 5-5:30 then .jersey eats right after that. I have a half an hour to talk to my boys about how their day went. 6:30pm is bath time for .jordan, out by 7. He has his snack and then bed. Jersey is next... gets fed then bed. Brian stays up to about 8:30-9pm and when i know .jordan is definitely sleeping, he goes to sleep.

Then until .Brian gets home, i clean Mad

I put her to bed between 7:15-7:30pm, and i wake her at 8:15am. If i don't wake her she'll sleep all morning.

so, at least 12-13 hours a night Very
Happy

joseph goes to bed at 8pm everynight sometimes 7:30 if hes being cranky and mean. he takes a nap around 12-1 sometimes sleeps for 3 hrs, jordynne takes a short nap in the morning, then a longer one in the afternoon. she has a bottle around 4pm then i cook dinner around 5 while she plays on the floor with her toys then we eat , play alil then bath. she usually has another bottle around 7-8, most nights goes to bed at around 8ish unless she naps later in the day then shes up near 9. So id def try not to let em nap late, i usually go and wake em up if they sleep for a while and its after 4 so they will sleep at night. sometimes they need that lil bit of sleep but will sleep for hours i fyou let em. so if shes cranky let her nap but for alittle while then wake her up .

I think you put her to bed too late because at that point shes over tired and restless. Christian gets that way in the afternoon after playing for a while he gets so cranky ...he sleeps between 7-8pm until 6-7 am. takes about 3 naps of 40 min during the day.

i bath my two on a morning as they always smell yukky as they sweat alot on a night Shocked so they don't really have a routine. i set them down with a beaker of milk and water and they will sup on that then fall asleep.

i answered on your other post about how layla used to wake up every hour til she was 1. i know how you feel sweetie Sad
