Healthy Diet: eating for energy and health Posted: 06-04-07 04:33am
This is a question not about myself but my
girlfriend. The question is about her
eating habits, she doesn't eat frequently,
sometimes only one meal a day, she gets
full very easily and doesn't have a whole
lot of energy. Also, she rarely eats
breakfast, it's usually dinner that she
eats. She also finds that her weight
varies a lot. As I'm a bit worried I am
wondering if this is normal and possibly a
symptom of low blood pressure and is just
how her body functions or if there is a
reason to be worried and if so what to do
about it.
Thank you

Your girlfriend might try to change
nutrition habits, if possible, and place
more emphasis on breakfast and dinner,
eating different food, more fruit and
vegetables. The reason I suggest
breakfast and dinner is because the time
distances between the meals is longer so
that the food is well digested.
Furthermore, she might request a few
laboratory tests (blood tests) to identify
possible or eventual disorders. Nutrition
problems are sometimes caused by mental
conflicts, too especially among a younger
population...so she might seek help with a
counselor or mental health professional to
assess her attitude toward food, eating,
and self-image.
