How Come Every One Has to Touch You?
Posted: 06-04-07 09:39am

ok now i have no problem with ym friends touching me... but when my fiance's parents want to give a rub to the belly i get so freakin annoyed... they've always hated me and it's like all of a sudden if i'm around they have to touch my stomach and they have to tel me how cute i am with the belly... they used to ca me fat behind my back and now they call my big belly cute? what is with that? is it just because they're grandchild is in me? is it because they know they can't get rid of me now?

i'm staying away from them as much as possible so i don't go flipping out with my pregnant hormones and hurt their feelings... any one have any idea why a of a sudden they just have t be around me?

Omg they call u fat behind your back Surprised eshhh thats rude.
It will be beacause your carrying there sons baby and there grandchild i bet. i hate people like that, and once you have had the baby they will be one of these people that tells you what to do always wants to hold the baby, ahhhhhhhh - am scared my bf parents might be like that..

hahah wait till your bigger and then everybody and their mother wants to touch you..

random people come up and rub my belly and ive been asked what my due date is so many times i dont know what to do.. I think people mean well, and hey they people can change. Your in laws are going to be part of your life for the rest of it so i think you should just try to enjoy their change of heart. I mean i know its rough but your now linked to them forever and if this is what it took (the pregnancy) for them to finally accept you and treat you well then take it and run with it. As far as all the other people... I think they are all well intentioned and just happy for you. I just smile, i mean its not hurting anyone.. Know if i had the baby here and they were touching her.. that would be another story!

I sooo feel for you. I'm in the same boat. My inlaws touch me every time I see them & it drives me crazy. Especially b/c i'm only 10 weeks & my tummy is still just flab. It's so embarrassing. And they are totally the family that will tell me how to raise him/her... I think they will drive me crazy! Good luck w/yours. Avoiding is good in my book!

Haven't visited this site for ages-had to post a reply to this one though!!!

I was the exact same way with my mother in law.
She'd start with the belly touching seriously, as soon as we told her I was pregnant (2 Babies so far)
Now I'd be literally, maybe 8 weeks pregnant and she'd be going the belly rub. At that stage there's nothing but belly there!
It used to do my head completely in, and by the time there was a baby bump there, I'd be so over all the groping, I'm sure I was making "get-off me" faces.

My first pregnancy was a major novelty at work, and when I started to get big, everyone wanted to see if they could feel the baby moving- it got so they'd say hi to my belly before they said Hi to me. I didn't even mind that though, for some reason, it was only my mother-in-law who got my goat.
And it Really got to me to, for a mad second I'd fantasise about just head-butting her right in the face!!! It was awful.

Nobody touched me. I must have given the "touch me and pull back a bloody stump look".

Nobody really touches my belly either. My sister did once and I think that my best friend did too. I really, really don't like people touching me and think that I give off a don't touch me vibe. Let's hope it stays that way.

I don't really mind that much that my mother in law touches my belly, it's her grandchild in there after all. Strangers, I can't handle though but I probably give off that vibe too and if they do, I show that I'm not comfortable with it. It doesn't happen that often thank goodness. At church, everyone asks a lot of questions but they don't touch because they know I had a big surgery done and they're probably scared to.
