Pimple?? Or Something Else!?
Posted: 06-04-07 15:52pm

I just discovered a nasty, scary looking thing 'down there'.

It is on the outside, kinda right where the two 'lips' meet...

It looks like a big zit, and in the shower, it popped like one. It doesn't really hurt or anything. It has been there for at least 4 days, and seems to be going away, but is still visible.

I am almost positive it is not herpes or something...I got tested for chlamydia/syphilis/HIV/hepatits B about 2 months ago...I asked for everything to be tested, so I am not sure if there is just not a test for herpes, or if there is...why they didnt do one???

Anyways, I have only been sexually active with one person, and I got tested after I broke up with him. I have only kissed guys since then...there has been no contact 'down there' and my bf was clean, so I don't think it could be an STD!

The thing is there seems to be a new guy coming into the picture, and I am so scared if he sees it, he is gonna think I have an STD or something!!

I want to be 100% confident in my explanation that it is "just a zit"

How common are zits down there???

.i have gotten a few as well so .i don't think they are anything to worry about. .their is no test for herpes other than diagnosing through an exam when their are lesions present.

Pimples are very common. It's possible to get pimples almost anywhere on your body.

Sounds like it may have been an ingrown hair. To be on the safe side I would have your dr. check it out. If it is just an ingrown hair, it won't harm your health and you don't have to worry about it harming anyone else. It can just be both painful and embarrassing. Best wishes!

There is a blood test for herpes. The usually don't tell you about it because its not one they really commonly do. Usually they just do a diagnosis by their naked eye. If you shave down there its probably just an ingrown hair or even a little bacteria could have gotten into your skin and irritated that area. I have gotten a few small bumps down there in the past and freaked me out but I had them looked at and the doctor said that we have alot of pores, and glands down there and alot of times things can just get clogged. I wouldn't be too concerned if I were you because from what I've read herpes is painful. The fact that its getting better already is probably just an indication of irriatation. If it was anything like warts or hepres usually they spread and get worse before they begin to shrink. That is what I was told when I was concerned.

sounds like you are a responsible lady, i am glad to hear you got tested and are being careful! i honestly think all you have is a pimple or an ingrown hair. i've had them down there sometimes. keep an eye on it and if you see any unusual changes have them checked out, but there is no reason to run to the doctor over a spot! Smile
