I'm just hoping for a bit of advice here.
So Saturday and Sunday... She was absolutely wild in there. She was moving and kicking and flipping more than I've ever noticed.. I actually enjoyed it quite a bit, but after two day's of it, I was kinda weirded out by it because it was such a drastic change.

Now today I've barely felt her at all, mind you I have felt her move... but very little and It's kinda scaring me.

Is it normal for the babie's pattern's to change that much this close to the end? To go from a steady ( her patterns were the same from almost 6 months on ) to drastically moving about like crazy to barely moving at all?
Should I be concerned or is it normal?
any advice would be sooo appreciated, I'm really worrying quite a bit here.

Doctor.
Look, I don't want to freak you out, if you are still feeling movement, I'm sure everything is fine, and it's just craped quarters in there.

Just so you are aware, a good friend of mine was pregnant with her first baby at the same time as I was pregnant with my second. At around 37 weeks, she felt him moving like crazy on one day, like a frenzy- and then nothing the next- really nothing, so not like you, you are still feeling something.
She went to the doctor, they sent her for a scan, and her little boy had died. He was stillborn two days later.
It was absolutely awful.

I'm definately not saying you should freak out, or that this would happen to you, but if you really think your baby's movement is strange, or something feels wrong, trust your instincts, and get checked out - it can't do any harm can it ?.

As pregnancy reaches it's end you've got a whole full-sized new born baby in there, so all his/her movements seem big, you notice all of them, and they are already seetling into sleeping and waking patterns, so sometimes they'll be fast asleep for a couple of hours and you'll lose your mind worrying, only to get "the boot" as soon as you try to get some sleep yourself!

don't panic, but don't feel like you are silly to be concerned, and don't hesitate to get medical advice if you think something's wrong. Even a regular GP can have a quick listen for a heatbeat, and check whether the baby's in any distress. It's no big deal.

if you're really worried, do a kick count. I don't know how far along you are but if you are 7 - 9 months, it's good to get in the habit of doing them anyway. Have a cold drink of milk or something then go lie down. If you don't count 10 kicks in a couple of hours then call the doctor.

If you do it every day or few days...

Here's How:
Choose a time of day.
Get a watch.
Get a piece of paper and pen or pencil.
Mark a line for every movement your baby makes within 30 minutes.

You should be able to feel/see 10 movements a day at the very very least. Once you're near the end they do run out of room because they're gaining weight so quickly so their movements do slow down. Is there a position or a food etc that usually gets bubba moving?

I hope everythings okay now. Did you end up calling the doctor? I don't think it ever hurts to call if you're worried. I know most of the time it will end up being nothing, but having a lot of movement in there can also mean fetal distress in some instances so it doesn't hurt to be sure. There's definitely no reason to feel guilty or silly when you worry about your baby, that's your job after all and no one can feel the baby like you can so sometimes you gotta trust your instincts.

Thanks for all the replies guys ! Smile
I ended up calling this morning and they asked me to come in.
Hahah I swear i was in tears she just would not move and then half an hour into my NST kid went crazy!
I felt so silly...
but on the plus side , well not so much plus but They said it was a good thing I went in.
I had slight protein in my urine... and my blood pressure was a bit up.
We ended up discussing the possibility of Preeclampsia Shocked
I'm still not all that knowledgable on the subject. The doctor was kind of a tool.
I have an OB appointment tomorrow with my actual OB, so I need to bring him my first pee of the morning Laughing and he'll check my blood pressure again. If thing's are still funny then I guess we'll go from there
So she's moving just fine now, Now I just have to cross my fingers that I don't have preeclampsia Confused
And maybe I should do a bit of research on the subject as well..

again thanks ladies for all the replies!

I have soooo much protein in my urine so I can feel you anxiousness about pre-e. Fortunately I have perfect bp 113/64 (yesterday's reading) and so I am not as concerned as I was. I swell like crazy too. Ewwww, I look so icky. Anyways, I am hoping that your BP was up because you were concerned about the baby. Make sure that you relax and take deep breaths before your appointment. That always helps my bp stay low.

try not to google anything!!!!! You'll scare yourself!!!! The internet has tendencies to scare the crap out of you when it's nothing really.

She was prob just sleeping from all the excercise she had done!

I couldn't count how many times I freaked and called my Dr. because she wasn't moving. You'd be surprised how much they sleep. well, you'll see when she comes out. You think "so that's what she was doing in there!!!!!"

Thanks guy's. Yea I'm trying to not let it freak me out too much.
Lol ... I felt so silly because I've been so upset about her movement decreasing and as soon as I got there she was going nut's she even gave the nurse a good boot! Laughing

I looked it up a bit, and it scared me a bit. So I pretty much just got the definition of it... and backed the hell away.
I tend to worry and read into things A LOT.

Thank god my OB is tomorrow... thanks for all the advice ladies and I'll definately keep you all updated.

Oh! and I only have 4 more weeks to go ... So hopefully I just get to brush this off... and have a super healthy baby in a month! I'm willing to wait for her!

Well, I'm glad everything (for the most part) turned out well.

Four weeks?!?! Were does the time go?

I have high blood pressure going into it..(if I ever go into it)...I just have to continue taking my meds through-out. I have read up on it though....scary. My doctor doesn't seem to concerned. As long as their monitoring you, you shouldn't be worried.

Yea they even said today they have to take it seriously because of the two symptoms showing up together.
I have a requisition for bloodwork tomorrow and a follow up with my OB. I'm kinda getting more and more nervous.
I have taken everyone's advice and havent looked it up, but it seems bad.
I just don't want to get myself all worked up and have them tell me I'm fine, ya know?

I wish they had gotten into more detail about it though. I feel so clueless.
What happens if I do have it.. what will they do then?
Any takers?

I'm sorry if I seemed to have played down the importance in my post.

What I meant was, there is no reason to get upset/anxious about it before it happens (easier said than done). And if it does happen, as long as your doctors stay on top of it, you shouldn't worry. They know what to watch for, and trust me, they will definitely be more safe than sorry.

What they do really depends on how severe it is. More than likely, they will put you on bed rest. That seems to be the common treatment of mild cases.

If you had a severe case (just for the sake of the argument) I think the most they would do is induce labor.

Have you had any swelling?

Oh I didn't think you played it down, I'm just so oblivious to the subject!

Thank you for replying so quickly.. My head's all funny right now.

As for swelling, I've had swelling but like I told them there are so many other factor's ... the heat my hands only plumped up in the past few day's when it was sweltering, and now that it's cooler today ... I can actually take off my rings! Laughing
My ankles and feet have been swollen since 6 months but I also work retail and bus table's every so often... so I'm forever on my feet!

I truly do think that I'm ok though. It wasn't my first pee of the day and I've never had protein before.
My bp was high but I've been stressed lately, about the baby's activity and then there's work (which is not going good!) and just home stuff.

Isn't that a little sudden for something like this to just pop up? I had my appoint. a week ago and everything looked perfect!
I don't know, I just think I'm fine... guess it's just a gut feeling.

I don't doubt that your blood pressure was high today because of the scare your girl gave you!!

your real doctor will probably be able to set your mind at ease tomorrow. (they tend to care so much more then some dr. you really don't know). I think it was wrong of him to just throw the word out there and not offer you any information on the subject. It's a scary word to just throw around especially without knowing anything yet.

What's been wrong with work? How much longer will you be working?

That's how I felt... I know he was busy but I left so confused!

And work ... well here's a rant and a half for ya Wink
If all goes well I'll be working until my due date, I'm not eligable for maternity but that's ok I plan on doing a course for my psw in september and then screw retail!

Since I've gotten there We've completely changed staff. The only people left out of 7 are me and my manager.
Within a month of me being there I was training people ... which is fine, but kinda blows when I'm only getting min. wage.

Now there are only four of us.
Me the manager get along great,
The new assistant manager is sweet as can be , but kind of a door knob Laughing and it completely blows that when she has problems she calls me. She asks me how to do everything. I show her how to do everything and usually have to tell her what needs to be done.
She get's paid $4 more than me and has been in retail for "four years" ... this is my first retail job ever..
and the other girl... well she's the most ridiculously lazy sloppy disgusting pig I've ever encountered. ever.

Pretty much they all expect everything from me, I cover everyone's butt... I pick up everyone's slack... but when I need a day or break... It's my problem.
I just feel like they are being really inconsiderate of me Crying or Very sad
and if i get into any more detail we'll have a neverending post on our hands!

Wow, that sounds like all take and no give. That's not fair at all. Neither is teaching a superior. In what world does that make sense? Confused I have actually done that before, so it's not just you.

I'm so glad to be out of retail. Always dealing with unhappy customers. Not my idea of a great job. The only thing that kept me there was the commission. Do you make commission?

Working up until your due date. Shocked Thats brave. I don't think I could do that. It sounds like they're going to try to give you a hard time about that too. Rolling Eyes

I know it sounds stupid and obvious but try not to stress too much. Your blood pressure won't stay down if you don't try to relax as much as you can. Try to put your feet up and just take as much time to relax, cool off and be off your feet as you can. I'm pretty sure the pre-eclampsia thing isn't a black and white issue, I think there are degrees of seriousness to it. I feel bad for you having to still be working and I'm sure it doesn't help the swelling much. Wish I had some really good advice for you but I'll just remind you to take it easy on yourself as much as you can. Hope everything turns out okay.

I'm sure everything will be fine!

As for work... no commision ... But we have UPT& ADS... and if we have a high upt (kinda like item's per sale) and ads (average dollars per sale)
We get a pat on the back!!! Laughing

Ash for unhappy customers... Yea that blows... and I gotta say,
Ladies I love you all...
But unhappy pregnant customers are evil. Twisted Evil
I seriously looka t them sometimes like "Man! I'm on your team!"
But then again you get the sweethearts too... I get in trouble then because I'm always talking to 'em forever!
