Okay this is baby number two. After this
one, I have noticed that there is a smell
accompained by a white discharge(
discharge has been there for years before
children, but no smell) and no iritation
or itching. I douche and it's no smell for
atleast 4-6 days. Then there it comes
again, so embarrasing!!! Any ideas?

You probably have a yeast infection, but
should see the doctor to be sure.
Symptoms vary. I had a yeast infection
once and had no idea because I had none of
the "typical" symptoms.
Don't douche. Ever. It really messes
with your body's natural ph. Your vagina
naturally cleanses itself and douching
really screws with that natural cleansing.

You know, I use to not douche at all. My
mother kind of taught me the same thing in
my coming of age. But, I started to after
my first baby. I heard my husband having a
converation with a friend who's wife had a
baby about the same time I did, and they
were talking about how "it" just never
smells the same again!!! So, in came
douching....maybe I should have listen to
my mother....So, monastate.....I haven't
had a yeast infection since
adolescences....?

You know, that's just what I've always
heard (not to douche - I'm 25 btw) at
school sex ed and from doctors, but I will
be watching/reading to see what others
think. I hope people will post links to
credible information about it.

You know too, most of our habits come from
what we learn from our friends, moms,
aunts, cousins, ect about feminine hygien.
So, like I said I just kind of did what
the women around me did...Now I've moved
away from family and see my husbands
family and they all Douche. Actually my
husband was shocked I didn't! So, I don't
know?! but, yeah I'd like to see what
people say, cause now I'm torn..

wow, that's interesting. I've never heard
of "it" not smelling the same after having
a baby. I can't really ask my husband
because we got together when my oldest was
2 months old so he'd have no idea what I
smelled like before. I'm going to have to
do some searching on that one.
As for the douching I never knew not to do
it until after I did it. My mom never
talked openly with me about anything. I
started my period when I was 8 or 9 and
all she did was hand me a pad.
