Tetanus shot for deep puncture wound Posted: 06-05-07 17:55pm
My son stepped on a nail. We are not sure
if he had a recent tetanis shot. Is it ok
for him to recieve the shot tomorrow if we
find that he hasn't had the shot recently?
The wound was cleaned with hydrogen
peroxide and antisporin was used.

Deep puncture wounds such as those
achieved from stepping on nails are most
susceptible to tetanus infection. If you
can't recall when your son last received a
tetanus shot, or if it has been long time
ago, he should get the booster.
