Pregnancy Forum - Baby born by ventouse

I have a 14 week old baby who was born by ventouse. He still has a slight visible bump, but is more noticiable when running your hand over his head. I was informed this would go before 12 weeks. is this anything to worry about? He is a very happy and content little boy who is advance for his age.
I would like to no before taking him to the GP as I do not want to take an appointment from someone who may need it more than me.

According to the description of the delivery and birth combined with the description of the “bump” on the baby’s head, the baby might be experiencing "caput succedaneum". This condition is an edema in the subcutaneous tissue of the baby’s head due to vacuum extraction during delivery. Caput succedaneum is a temporary condition and should pass spontaneously without any treatment. You may still consult your GP to confirm this possibility and exclude other conditions like bleeding under the skin (haematoma) which is less likely, but more serious.
