Getting a Vibrator

Alright. I'm seventeen and just got into
college (Yay for grants), and won't be an
adult for quite a while.
Is there any way to get a toy? Do stores
card or anything?
I'd be so embarrased if I had to ask one
of my freshmen friends to get me one and
discribe what I want.
And I just can't wait anymore.

most places want you to be 18 to purchase
a vibrator but I am sure you might be able

these are all sites i have used. you don't
mention where you are from. they are all
uk based. if you are american i cant help
you, i'm afraid!
all websites you go to will require a
credit/debit card payment, so if you are
under 18 this is probably not possible for
you?
i'm discovering more and more that with
vibrators you get what you pay for. if
something is cheap, it is cheap for a
reason (poor quality materials, really
noisy etc) so bear this in mind when you
are shopping for one.
to be honest, there is no reason to be
embarrassed going into a sex shop for one.
the people who see you in the shop are
obviously there for the same reason lol,
and the staff... well they work there so
it's hardly like they are in any position
to mock you!! in places like ann summers
it's good cos the staff are informative
and they let you see the vibrators working
so you can see how powerful/noisy they
are. i doubt anywhere would .I.D you if
you look old enough.

Yeah..I don't have a debit card or
anything, and I highly doubt they take our
campus card. So I don't think I could get
it off of the internet.
I'm not sure if I look like an adult
either, so I guess that's out. I'm not
afraid to be embarrassed by going into the
store, but could I get arrested if they
find out I'm not of age?
If they would just kick me out I suppose I
could go into random shops and find one
that won't card me. Right?

I'm guessing you're in the US?
The worst they could do is turn you down.
Just like trying to get into a bar
underage - you can't get arrested for
that, you just don't get in. If you are
caught inside a bar drinking underage then
there could be consequences, but even
that's not a big deal - usually it's the
bar that gets in trouble, not the
underager.
Anyway, back to adult toy stores. In my
experience the people in adult toy stores
are super cool, nice and helpful. I had a
guy shop worker help me pick out my
vibrator years ago and he was so great at
helping me choose the right one. Honestly
I think even if you flat out told them
you're 17 they wouldn't care - especially
if you're there alone.
Here in Canada at least, the must-be-18 to
go into the store rule is for a couple
reasons. 1) There is pornography in plain
view - even the packaging of some of the
toys would be technically/legally be
considered pornography. 2) They don't
want a group of highschool (or younger)
kids in there every day after school
giggling at the 12 inch double-header....
that would be bad for business. What
customer would want a group of giggling
kids around when they're browsing adult
toys?!?
So, being a 17 year old walking into a
shop seriously looking to buy something -
you will be taken seriously and they
likely won't care even if they think
you're under 18. You'll be taken even
more seriously if you go alone - it's a
private sort of purchase anyways - and
then you can pay cash. =)

Good for you. i got my 1st one at 16. Im
into toys etc and in that kind of trade
anyway. Yiu can always use on line
ordering services or a catolouge called
Westward Bound. i do fetish and sex toy
modeling etc and must say they are very
discreet and great with customers!!
Youll be fine. At the end of the day its
nothing to be embarressed about. I was a
little the 1st time i went in but after
that i was hooked and they were all so
nice and put me at ease. And now i work in
that trade! lol

Yeah, I'm in the US.
Alright, I went to both of the stores as
Anne123 said to see how it'd go. I was
alone, had cash, and all that. They both
carded at the door ...so all well.
I don't have a checking account either ...
so I guess I'm stuck waiting. Man that
sucks. Unless paypal works in some way I
don't know. My mother isn't the kind
that'd help me get a card either and won't
let me until I'm an adult..so I guess I'm
out of options.
I really don't know anyone here too well,
but I guess I could find someone with a
debit card and give them cash to watch me
use it..eh, but waiting sounds better
there.

Haha, well, I know that if all else fails,
the pirates in the SCA always have a brand
new one handy to give out to anyone. The
ones I know just live too far away..all
well; the next War is closer than my
birthday. I never thought of that.

in there when I was 16/17 but there's only
one part of the shop only over-18s can go
in and I never got ID'd, and I've been
told that I only look about 15 lol.
Thing is, the rest of the shop is free for
anyone to walk in and I once saw someone
take their little girl in with her....she
looked about 3.

Yes most shops in the us card right at the
door and there is no way of getting in
basically. Best thing I could think of is
to possibly find what you want on the net
(name of it, etc) and if you have a friend
that is over 18 to go in and purchase it
for you. (i know you said you didnt really
know anyone) but its worth a try. Also
one pervious poster stated about spencer
gifts. They have those in most malls and
I too have seen vibrators there. Maybe
you could check that out?? Otherwise
maybe settle for something you can buy at
walmart like a personal massager
(handheld) those work dandy!

Yeah! Back massagers, vibrating leg razors
(yes they have those, just don't put
blades on it!) and N64 controllers (don't

massager. I'm sure I could look into those
the next time I go to the store.
I'm thinking about finding a friend
that'll get me something. I found out that
one of the bigger US sites is actually a
shop right next to my university, so I'm
probably going to browse around that if I
do find a friend that'll do that for me.
I have lots of mini-friends..but yeah;
I'll wait until I know which one is best
to ask.
What is spencer gifts though? Is it a
shop? I know our mall is very small.
