Kugel Hernia Patch Problem Posted: 06-11-07 14:44pm
After hernia surgery, I had a patch
installed. A couple of days later, the
patch broke and caused all sorts of pain.
Anyway, did some research and found that
my patch was recalled! Check to see if
yours was too because you don't want to
experience this pain, trust me.

Kugel Patch Posted: 06-16-07 22:59pm
I had a post op infection of an
unexplainable nature after surgery and
required additional surgeries to remove
the patch/mesh, re-repair the hernia
without mesh, and most recently to repair
it once more with a new biological mesh.
I am a single parent and lost much work.
Disability doesn't cover you when the
complications set in a few weeks after
returning to work. I was left with a 14
inch open wound with home health visiting
me ( I am in my 30's). At one time I was
on a wound vac 24 hours a day. Three
years later and no one has offered
explanation to me despite all my
conyinuing treatment and complications.
While we recognize that some people have
had no problems witht he Kugel we have
actually secured legal council and are
considering pursuing action against
Johnson & Johnson.
If you've had strange complication from
hernia repair between 2004-2006 I suggest
you request a copy of your surgical
report.
Good luck.
